this is how new trucks are delivered, i drive these sort of configurations for a living, this is what is caled a 2-way. there is a massive steel boom from 5th wheel to 5th wheel linking the trucks together, and then the back axles of the towed unit are chained up off the ground. the more popular method is "decking" which is more or less piggy backing up to 4 trucks on one drive unit.
