hi can i use dis facility with gsm sim? do need to insert the sim to make call or it works over the internet thnx m from pakistan here 3g is not availabe kindly tell me so i make my selection to buy one thnx again
Anyone have a suggestion to do the opposite of this? That is, have a phone and use this device as a bluetooth headset (similar to how the Garmin Nuvi 885T works)?
Thanks for the video 'proof' that calls are possible. Did you ever manage to make calls via a BT earpiece? Can the unit wake up on receiving phone or skype calls? Would love to have a way to have both skype and cell capabilities while running around Europe for my tourism job.
Seeing that the video was shot on a bright-ish "German" (?) summer day, i'd like to ask your opinion of the screen viewability in such lighting conditions - I need to use it for customer sign-up in sunny places regularly.
Hi im looking into getting a S5 or a X70 and the voice modem is a big deal to me, did you ever get the voice modem to work on the S5 or do you know if the version they are selling now it will work. Thanks for the Videos.
While it is something that is purported to work, it is not officially supported in any capacity by either us or Viliv and as such we cannot guarantee it would work with any unit of the X70 or even the S5.
No problem steve. Iv had passed experinces of making vids wi ma details only to find others frekin me out tellin me where I lived etc. Some weird ppl lol nuff luv tho great visa. Ur a fellow Brit but seems like ur in Germany. :-)
Viliv X70 with 3G is $879.. Archos is making one with 7" WVGA, Android and HSDPA as well probably at less than half that price unlocked. (not that I have any information, I am just expecting it..)
I guess it won't run XP, VIsta and Win7 though ;-) I know, many people don't want that but there's a big subset of people that want the PC and phone combined.
Sure, but then Archos does Win7 starting in September on a larger 8.9" tablet though, and for $499 (with or without the pre-installed or user installable HSDPA modem I dunno)
Most of the reviews are saying it is "excellent quality" The Archos 605 i have is far below that. I would be leary of buying another Archos device unless proven otherwise.

I just checked Dynamism and S5 does have a w version of the modem.
Are there any other device that have voice capabilities like this?
delgadilloaaron 2 years ago
Interesting. My S5 3G version has a non voice modem. All my Viliv devices are samples though.
I'm going to try and get hold of the software so that others can test it out.

Chippy:
Do you know if the S5 Premium Series will handle voice calls?
Will you have a more in depth review later of the phone functions?
delgadilloaaron 2 years ago
THe S5 premium doesnt include the 'w' version of the Huawei modem (as far as I know)

Thanks for the heads up!

The S5 would make better sense with the voice-capability though!
