In Canada we have an independent organization that looks after elections. We don't use voting machines (just paper ballots) and our results come in quicker than those in the US. It's sad to know that such practices go on in a so called democracy.

Look, the fine for mishandling the voting slips is like a parking tickets, and it was probably a mistake .. "put it into the box near the door".

The real issue is if the total number of mishandled ballots could be large enough to disturb the ballet ,or if it represented a conspiracy.

What you see here is that they are found 132 voting slips, but not saying how many they were looking for.. (well, some voters take them home... so its not possible to find them all )

Electronic voting offers absolutely no guarantee that the vote you cast is counted or even than it can be counted. Electronic voting is basically the end of democracy. Elections need a paper trace. Canada has never used electronic machines and we're doing just fine, thank you. We also never lost ballots. What you see here is good old American incompetence.
