Why does Julie laugh at the Moff’s jokes a full twenty seconds after everyone else? A: She’s a disingenuous bitch. B : She’s bored to tears with everything Doctor Who. C: She’s heard all the jokes nine times before because she’s used the Tardis out of hours. Good punchline, though, Mrs Gardner. Kudos.
Steven Moffat is truly a genius! Completely hilarious, with the ability to write nightmares for every child (or adult) subjected to his material. You can definitely tell here that he used to be a comedy writer.
Lets face it. Rose was a classic Mary-sue. Completely useless and totally dependant. Her only role was to provide uncanny romantic canon to the show (for the fangirls of course). Its meant to be a sci-fi action adventure. Not a soppy love story regardless of how much Russel the fangirl wanted us to believe.
LOL, He is so funny! He's like a stand up comedian! God, I'm in tears. But what was his answer about River Song from Julie Gardner about whether she's his wife? You cut that bit out. :( Sounds promising about the duplicate Doctor and Rose though. They would have just said no, if that was the case surely?
I think he said what he did to wind up Julie Gardner since everyone knows shes a big fan of the relationship between the Doctor and Rose. The way he looks at her laughing makes that clear to me. But yeah he's never really "used" the Rose character very well. I don't think he's ever warmed up to the idea of his childhood hero falling in love with a shop girl. Which she totally isn't--thats the point of her character development, but I just think SM is a bit narrowminded where Rose is concerned.
I think he is BRILLIANT...You can't call a genius writer narrowminded just because he doesn't like a character. She was very obnoxious in my opinion. I saw no growth. She was constantly whining and all "ME ME ME" and then got kicked to another dimension and BAM she's all gun girl. That wasn't growth. Althoughh, she was whiny and selfish even in the last few eps.
He is brilliant in some ways but very narrowminded in others. His view of women is completely distorted check out all his previous works for confirmation of this. In an interview he said he thinks women are much more clingy and dependent than men and NEED men more than men need women simply because young girls dream of weddings and play with babies and prams as kids. Wtf? I simply dislike his take on women and that translates to his opinion of Rose which is YES very very narrowminded.

"You've got to give the Doctor credit for dumping a slightly clingy girlfriend."
Thank you Moffat! Finally, a non fangirl in charge of the writing.

For this comment, even jokingly, the Moff is made of a million Win. I even did my Doctor Who finale happy dance in response.

@sestrensaz I wouldn't say that precisely. Looking at the relationship between Amy and Rory, she is the strong one in that relationship.
