I admire this young Australian Idol. I first took note of him, his destinctive good looks & his voice(yes his voice), over christmas whee I tuned him in wile searching out Christmas caols. This version is definitely one of the very best. he must have been very nervous but it made him even better, Loved the little smiles of pleasure at singing this wonderful song. great soft and gentle start then build up to a powerful finish. Hauntingly beautiful (and that goes for the singing as well).
That's the Telethon performance, which dates from October last year, whereas this one is from March 2006. His voice is developing all the time. There are also more recent performances on YouTube, from his work on the Celine Dion tour a few months ago and a couple of other live shows. The only time he hasn't performed The Prayer recently is in the Songs From The Movies concert at the Opera House. If you like this, you might also like Nella Fantasia and Oh Holy Night.

Beautiful rendition of The Praye sung with such passion.I totally understand why he was hand picked to perform on this special day for Queen Elizabeth. Pavarotti also requested Anthony to sing at a special Gala event in held Perth in Pavarotti's honour,he was obviously taken by Anthony's rendition of The Prayer. He was also asked to perform The Prayer for Prince Frederik & Princess Mary,none seem to be bothered that he is not classically trained,they have ears to know what sounds devine.
I had the pleasure of being outside the Cathedral the day Anthony sang The Prayer for Queen Elizabeth 11.They had large speakers outside the church & enormous screens beaming the images from inside. It was one of the most beautiful sounds I have heard, all you could hear was Anthony's pure beautiful voice ringing out through the quitened streets of Sydney. It was absolutely spine tingling & something I will never forget, it gives me goosebumps just thinking about that day.

This was a great rendition the "The Prayer".. Oh, and for the record, his Italian diction is fine. This man is truly talented. For some reason i only like hearing him sing live. In the studio version of his songs his voice doesn't seem musical. But that's just my opinion. God Bless everybody.
this is a duet, as well as a classical song...2 things wrong here...he sings it by himself, and in a pop style with not good italian diction. decent voice though. too bad the modern music scene is all about appearance and not talent.

I like how it was sang because it is given a popera treatment. Not every one likes classic. No offense meant but Andrea's version is languid. Josh's version is better than Andrea's but Anthony's version is even much better. No wonder it is Oz's fastest and highest Aussie selling single.
SongSwain I think your very wrong on this account you see I believe a singer puts their heart into what they perform. But more importantly you can see if a person truely feels what their singing or playing in their eyes. A singer portrays the emotions through their expression and their eyes. If you look while he sings you can tell he feels what he's singing. I believe strongly that he loves that song and it shows when he sings it.

Beautiful rendition of The Praye sung with such passion.I totally understand why he was hand picked to perform on this special day for Queen Elizabeth. Pavarotti also requested Anthony to sing at a special Gala event in held Perth in Pavarotti's honour,he was obviously taken by Anthony's rendition of The Prayer. He was also asked to perform The Prayer for Prince Frederik & Princess Mary,none seem to be bothered that he is not classically trained,they have ears to know what sounds devine.

I had the pleasure of being outside the Cathedral the day Anthony sang The Prayer for Queen Elizabeth 11.They had large speakers outside the church & enormous screens beaming the images from inside. It was one of the most beautiful sounds I have heard, all you could hear was Anthony's pure beautiful voice ringing out through the quitened streets of Sydney. It was absolutely spine tingling & something I will never forget, it gives me goosebumps just thinking about that day.

This was a great rendition the "The Prayer".. Oh, and for the record, his Italian diction is fine. This man is truly talented. For some reason i only like hearing him sing live. In the studio version of his songs his voice doesn't seem musical. But that's just my opinion. God Bless everybody.

this is a duet, as well as a classical song...2 things wrong here...he sings it by himself, and in a pop style with not good italian diction. decent voice though. too bad the modern music scene is all about appearance and not talent.

I like how it was sang because it is given a popera treatment. Not every one likes classic. No offense meant but Andrea's version is languid. Josh's version is better than Andrea's but Anthony's version is even much better. No wonder it is Oz's fastest and highest Aussie selling single.

SongSwain I think your very wrong on this account you see I believe a singer puts their heart into what they perform. But more importantly you can see if a person truely feels what their singing or playing in their eyes. A singer portrays the emotions through their expression and their eyes. If you look while he sings you can tell he feels what he's singing. I believe strongly that he loves that song and it shows when he sings it.
