its the bearings in your altenator no need to replace the whole thing just the bearings only 2 hours job

I changed the water pump, both pulleys- idle, and tensioner, and still does it. It's alot more quiet but I think its the tensioner. Did you find out what this issue is?

mine sounds just like that, when you hit the gas is it a constant squeek?

my car does the same thing, i cant telll if its the idler pulley the alternator or the water pump... or power steering pump... let me know how you fixed it please!!

I have the same problem..had the belts inspected and replaced....problem persists and mechanic said it was the alternator bearings going bad!

Was this problem definitely the alternator?  I've had a similar noise on my 2003 325i for a few months now.
