@wildbloodydragon the media doesn't want dems and liberals to know that true conservatives have more in common with libs than differ. Ron Paul is by far the most "bi-partisan" member of congress but it goes nowhere because of the establishment on both sides
@seestuff09 Yup. To be honest, as someone who always considered himself a democrat, I would definitely say that the far left is the only thing in the world that I hate more than the far right.
@wildbloodydragon there is no far left or far right, its all the same wings of the same bird of prey. There is zero difference between hillary clinton and mccan or bush. It is all a scam to to make you think different. There is all of congress and the senate on one side and then people like ron paul on the other. Breaking down the first side into different sub groups of left and right and repubs and dems is pointless and dumb
@slickbtk I disagree. Having met a lot of far left and far right people, I'd say there are people who have extreme ideas and very passionate about those ideas. That makes them "far" left and right. Extremists, if you will.
Then again, I somewhat agree. An extremist is an ignorant irrational person, regardless of what they stand for.
@wildbloodydragon well Im not sure of the people youve met but as far as politics go, there is only one person in the congress, senate and white house that is different from the rest and that person is Ron Paul. everyonelse is the same, so yo distinguish some of them as right and others as left is misleading and inaccurate. Even the word extremist is kind of misleading and kind of a bull shit cope out term. If you are not in the majority that doesnt make you an extremist, despite the medias view
@slickbtk And what makes you think extremists are an isolated few? Extremists often ARE the majority. I take Iran for example. The green movement in Iran is being held back by the conservative population of Iran, a lot of whom volunteer to be part of the security forces.
It's neither bullshit nor a cope out. It's reality. For example, government control is good but only to a certain extent. Respecting religion is fine but no one wants a theocracy. And so on.
@wildbloodydragon It depends what you mean by extremist, If you mean that they are beyond the majority opinion then they are by definition a minority, but if you use the definition of irrationality and a demeaning definition then again just because you are not in the majority doesnt mean that you are wrong or irrational. It is a cope out to simply say that someone is an "extremist" just because you disagree with them. It is a media coined term that is for shock appeal only. dont get sucked in
@wildbloodydragon You seem to be equating the word "extremist" with anyone who you disagree with. In reality extremist is not a good word, it has no real definition and cannot really be used in an intelligent manner. It has a subjective definition at best. Its a bs word that is used only in propaganda and bs context. there is no reasonable and rational context to use the word "extremist" . That being said there is zero range of political ideas and ideology between dems and repubs.
@wildbloodydragon You bring up varying levels of gov control as being a measure of extremism. But again that means nothing and is subjective. For example I view it as "extreme" (dumb and irriational) for the federal gov to be involved in education, social programs, healthcare, internal affairs of other countries, bailouts, subsidies and so on, but you or others may consider it "extreme" to abolish all or some of those things. So for each of us in this example to call eachother extremists is dumb
@wildbloodydragon lol I of course didnt mean that you were making the word up and its not a word lol. However all my points still stand because even using the official definitions it is a subjective and nothingness word."immoderate" "excessive" again that is all up to opinion, not a definite or absolute meaning. Again I think the fact that the american gov invades countries and polices the world are actions of an "extremist", immoral, excessive and fanatical country, others may think the opposite
@wildbloodydragon When you say that a muslim who preys 5 times a day is not extreme that is your opinion and subjective definition of an extremist. Others may say that it is pretty extreme (excessive, immoderate,) to kneel in the floor and talk to an imaginary friend 5 times a day.The word has no real meaning its a cope out term used by people and politicians who are not smart enough to articulate an opinion or argument and therefor have to resort to what amounts to calling someone a poopie head
@slickbtk In which case most if not all adjectives are completely meaningless. Light, heavy, dark, bright, fast, slow, beautiful, etc.
You can't put exact measures on everything, you sometimes have to use some logic. Sure, something can be very easy to lift and still be heavy for what it is, but generally speaking, anything difficult to lift is called heavy. Very simple, basic logic. See? It's not meaningless and completely relative anymore because we incorporated the human conditions into it.
@wildbloodydragon you are correct and that is my point exactly, that the word extremist is nothing more than a subjective adjective. And since its used in a derogatory sense it is the same as calling someone an ass hole or a prick or a poopie head, and therefore is a nothingness and meaningless argument. And the media and gov loves this term because it has the illusion of a coherent and logical critique of someones opinions but it is just meaningless name calling based on subjective opinion
@slickbtk I don't think you understood my point. You are saying it's meaningless because it is relative and there is nothing specific to compare it to. I am saying that it may be relative but there is something to compare it to, and that is the human condition.
Here's an easy way to understand it. You know what's the opposite of extremism? It's not another form of extremism. It's certerism.
@wildbloodydragon my point is that using a single subjective adjective is not in and of itself a valid argument. Like you said someones relative opinion about something can only become an argument if logically explained not simply stating a derogatory adjective. It is no different than telling someone that the worst color is yellow because yellow is ugly. That means nothing in the way of an argument just like calling someone and extremist means nothing in the way of an argument
@slickbtk I see where you're coming from, but if you look again at the definition it gives you exactly what you're looking for. Uncompromising is the key word it seems. In every form of extremism you see a great deal of intolerance and lack of consideration for what others may believe. Also notice the word "fanatical", as in excessive insisting on blindly following a philosophy, cult or religion word by word, without questioning whether it is right or not.
@wildbloodydragon I was once a Republican until I realised that they try to run peoples lives and spend as much as the democrats. I am now a proud libertarian. I will not tell someone how to run their life as long as it does not infringe on my liberty. Join the club my friend..

When I opt out for the 10% tax, does that mean I get that % back for my inherent rights in the Constitution?

@slickbtk You know, you're making a great point. Except you forgot extremist has a known, universal definition.
ex·trem·ist
[n]
- a person who favors or resorts to immoderate, uncompromising, or fanatical methods or behavior, esp in being politically radical
[adj]
- of, relating to, or characterized by immoderate or excessive actions, opinions, etc.
A Muslim who prays 5 times a day is not an extremist. One who cuts the hands of the stealer, is. Simple as that. You're reading too much into it.
