I think chow yun fat is amazing actor! i really love him! he has great chrisma and that's what i think most people find in him, it makes him different to other actors (like gsx1723 said). He's really cool too, i don't know if he is overrated, especially since i live in the UK, all i know is that he's not very popular here, and i wish he was overrated here! but yeh, I think he is FANTASTIC!! i just love him a lot (not in the gay way haha, but you know what i mean) :)
He has charisma, I think that's what sets him apart from others. there are many other great Asian entertainers, but US entertainment market is too tough to get into. The fact that he made it big in Hollywood, not even being a martial artist is saying something.
well as far as new wave actors yeah, i think all that training at TVb in the 70's rubbed off on him. his style is a throwback to when films were gritier.

I don't deny Chow is good actor,but the fact is he's overrated.
I like most HK actors be they MA or drama.
