very nice piano sound for slow ballads. I returned last week my new Yamaha CP5. And next week i will buy a new roland rd 700 nx. the Sound from the yamaha piano gf6 are to metallic und the piano sound from cf have ringtones in the background. I dont like it.
Awesome playing. Can see how you really get into your music by the motion of your hands and body. That's what I call "really getting into it." Love the strings you mixed in with it. Still undecided what keyboard to get and am leaning towards the Roland 700NX, but we'll see.
Pianoteq is an incredible piano simulator that can literally calculate the physics of acoustic piano sound and produce the most realistic miano i herad for many years (more ralistic than korg, roland, yamaha, .......). Hence, it's only 20megabytes cause it don't use any prerecorded sound but calculate it in real time. It is an vsti instrument that work stand alone or in mao software
I get a kick out of these people who say "no Nord is better". Yeah maybe better for the guy who posted that comment. If this is the piano sound YOU like, then IT'S better! BTW it is a beautiful piano sound...nice and wooden and warm sounding.
Sweet sounds! I'm thinking about investing into one of these for church use. I currently own a Yamaha M08, its ok but not as clean acoustic sounding as the rd700nx.
Roland v piano and the Rd 700 Nx are the leading pianos at moment.(Roland leads on digital pianos)
followed by nord piano 88 (clavia) and (korg kronos 88) with lots of issues spite the realistic piano sound. My opinion of course .for better u can always get a steinway&sons.

Hi, are you using an audio interface to record or doing it straight to a USB stick? I'm thinking of getting this, and if I can skip buying an audio interface and use the USB output instead, that would save me a bunch.
I've placed the order for my NX..:)..thats a strings layer that you engage in the middle right?..Sorry..i play the piano..i dont play on keyboards much..
The Rolands are amazing tour instruments and help great live sounds. But the weighting is too springy and not so realistic as a real hammer action. Your tonal variation is limited to the sampling range. There is a lack of 'wood' in the sound and this is the great determiner for any acoustic device.
Amazing sound, I played this instrument in my nearest music store, IT IS really AMAZING:) Keys are great weighted, dynamics range is huge too. The only one reason why I haven't bought it yet is the price. But if I got the money, I'll go and get it without wondering.
The supernatural piano is the result of interpolation between 4 velocities (how hard you strike the key). So each key has 4 samples of loudness and the supernatural engine makes guesses between each of the sampled sounds. Thats why when you listen to the sustained notes you don't hear any looping. The 700DX can assign upto 4 "tracks" or sounds on the keyboard. They can be overlapping or you can assign right and left.
I have just bought a RD700NX to replace the original RD700 bought nearly 7 years ago. This new version is simply outstanding. When put through its paces I found this keyboard to be a major improvement on its predecessor. The dynamic range and expression that can be achieved is huge. Roland has gone to the extent to emulate the string resonance produced just when simply pressing the damper pedal - just like you find on a grand!! Just be sure to have a decent system to hear it through though!!
@gdcook63 it is really great keyboards! I do enjoy playing them, everything I wanted extra in my older RD-700, but there is note steal effect on this, very bad one, you could check it by playing piano+strings or go to my videos and check it out ;)
@splavpeaks ....what do you expect!!!! who on earth wants to have 128 notes held down at the same time!!! Yes I have heard that there is a obvious glitch in the piano+strings mix..but proper use of the damper pedal overcomes this. If you are not classically trained in piano then you wont know what I am talking about!
@gdcook63 I am classically trained in piano and know how to play piano, but this happens quite often and the cut is heard very loudly. I would close my eyes on this if played only home, but I do play on stage and this is unacceptable.
@gdcook63 if you watch my video you will see the glitch at its fullest youtube/watch?v=kNNGiJjPEI4 - and will see there's nothing you can do to solve the problem, with 'proper' use of the damper pedal. I play about 8 notes at the beginning (not 128!) and you'll see how bad the cut off effect is. Looking forward to a reply from Roland tomorrow...
@gdcook63 I will do! So far I got put onto the senior technician who forwarded all the info and an mp3 example of the problem to Japan, I got a terrible reply from Japan saying basically, learn to live with it... if you don't want the problem use a different piano sound. Obviously that's totally unacceptable, so I did this video example, and wrote an 'official' email which has been sent by the UK product specialist, to Japan. So hopefully some good-ish news will be given to me tomorrow!
Hi splavpeaks, I love this piano sound but am still in doubt wether to buy a 700NX or a CP5. Had no chance yet to play a CP5 myself but playing the 700NX felt absolutely great. Thank you for your postings because 700NX demos are still pretty rare so, your's helped me a lot. Next Saturday I will be playing a CP5 and then, hopefully, I will know which one I should buy. Thanks again and keep up your excellent playing! :-)
@splavpeaks Trust me: After I haven't practised for almost 20 years you would definitely not want to know what I'm doing to the poor piano and so, to your ears as well... ;-)
Nord is so overpriced

Hey there :)
I was wondering - aside of the piano, what other instrument sounds does the 700nx have to chose from?

@aznplucky oh yes you can record straight to a USB stick. That is gonna uncompressed WAV but you can always use iTunes to make it mp3

I am in trouble in the moment with my > piano & strings setups.
