I think Lea and Christy interpret it in different ways. Lea is a belter, so she belts it. Christy sounds more like a young girl asking for answers, like somebody said.

lea is more commertial. this is artistic, and keeping in mind that both girls are very talented, i think that for voice, christy is more fit for wendla, but for looks, lea will allways be wendla to me(: but, as said before, both girls are amaizing, and have diffrent takes on this complex role, as it can be played many diffrent ways.

I used this song to audition for Robin Hood. lol :) christy altomare and lea michele are uncomparable because they sing it soo much differently. i love how christy uses SO much emotion/expression while singing this song.

Okay, everyone. Get over it. She's not Lea Michele, she's Christy Altomare. They may have played the same character but doesn't mean they have the same approach. This video is for people to enjoy her performance not to critique it to bits. I personally love them both and can appreciate both performances. Try it next time.

There is no way for this play not to be good but I am in love with the version that has Lea Michele and Jonathan Groff. Just personal preference. I have seen this one and another one too (with that guy from degrassi I think) and the first is still my fave.

i think lea is great but honestly christy is more "belivable" her voice is more raw and sweet which crates the effect of her sounding very innocent and young, dnt get me wrong i love lea she is amazing at whatever she does but her voice to me is too mature for wendla its beutiful just too mature to belive she is only "15", i saw christy and she was breath taking like i said before she was very belivable and being a teen myself it tuged to my heart more

I saw the tour in Pittsburgh and she sings this very well and plays a more youthful innocent Wendle than lea but I think out of the whole cast she was the weakest.

i totally agree with u she plays a very well wendla gives her a more innocent and realistic take but she did seem to be the weakest vocally for me from the cast but still the less she was great

@sandee12341 Weakest? There are weaker links in the cast than Christy Altomare. Just my opinion, but Christy is one of the strong links in the cast, who all are amazing.

@sandee12341: Weakest vocally? The last time I saw it, Jake was the weakest (vocally). Anyways, Christy doesn't have bad singing moments (lets face it, ShiShi's TM solo isn't always consistently good), and in my opinion, as long as the voice isn't cringe-worthy (and maybe in some cases, if it is), acting is more important than singing for the leads.
