I like the fact the your videos aren't all fun and games,What I would like to see though is you actually working on /tuning one of these radio's so we can get our learn on.
@Robertsegade Thank you. I'll keep that in mind. My video shooting skills are poor so I'm not sure how much actual work footage I can video. Plus my radio room and bench are small and very cramped. That makes it difficult as well. I think a tube type transmitter tune video would be possible. 73's Paul
Don't pull yourself down, yes maybe those you mentioned are more carasmatic than some of us....and in some cases are down right funny in their presentation skills, but we all have a common enjoyment of these old radios my Friend.
I look forward to the Restro videos for sure and a lot of my UK friends look forward to your videos too.......73 Dave M0OGY.
@m0ogy Thanks so much for the encouragement my friend.
I will have part 1 of the Lafayette HE-20C uploaded sometime soon. It's just a general current working state and walk through of the insides. 73's Paul
@mralh03 Hello Tony. Thank you for the words of encouragement. Part 1 of the HE-20C video is coming soon. It's a bit longer that I wanted it to be though. 73's Paul
@satanicgoth666g Thank you. It always great to hear from viewers. I'll keep the vids up as long as I'm able to and people are interested in them. The multi part repair videos will take me longer to do but I will add the occasional regular radio videos like I have been as well. 73's Paul
oh, someone retrofitted one of those fat 4 pin Amphenol plugs in place of the wonky 5 pin Lafayette connector. Interested in any more oldies? I've got a Lafayette HB-200 and a Courier 1M that I'd give to someone if they wanted to fix them. I have too many projects of my own.
Multipart vids are cool. Not a lot of people really work on these vintage rigs. They end up as shelf queens that don't work, and personally I can't stand that.
@gadget73 Yes someone added the Amphenol jack. Likely done a long time ago since those Amphenol plugs were basically obsolete by the1970's.
I have the same problem, to many projects, but the 1M and HB-200 interest me. Although it might take me forever to get them going with the number of projects I have and the slow progress I make with them. I've been looking for a 1M because I have the matching 6146 e.c.i. amplifier for one.
Thanks for the encouragement on the multi part vids.73's
@262NagantRadios I'd be open to maybe a trade, one of your projects for one of mine. The 1M I think is mostly there, but the crystals may not be. I know it needs an output tube because one of the pins is broken off. Beyond that, I don't think I've ever done anything with it. Its got the cord though. Not in bad shape either. The HB-200 has a cord hardwired into it, and I repainted the case years ago, but thats it. I think it mostly worked last I tried, but thats been years.
@gadget73 Hello. I appreciate the offer but I don't do trades. If the 8535KC RX & TX oscillator crystals (M2 & M3 in Sams volume 8) are missing I wouldn't be able to do anything with the 1M. Seriously doubt I would have either of them and I don't have any part 1M's at all. One is hard wired on the underside but the other plugs into one of the top side crystal sockets in the bank.
Man sorry to here about the Colt Midnite Special giving you problems... I hope mine will hold up for a while... Keep up the great work on the videos, I really enjoy them.....
