i love john's playing from what i've seen of this time, right when he returned. probably the most minimalist of his work with the peppers, this solo is great proof, i think it's cooler than the flashy solos he played for this circa 2006. at times, one sustained note can say a lot more than 40 successive notes, might even match the OG solo on the record
