I didnt drop my iphone in the water.. but it does work anymore, the screen is basically frozen and when a try to "slide to unlock" it slide thing is just stuck there.. so cant get it out of "mode" , so i sent it to apple.. and i guess i have water damage so they cant fi it.. what do i do now... lol

For the record the official white Iphone4 actually has the flash difusor on the back separating the camera lens and the flash. you did a decent job conceling this until the end of your video.

I accidentally left my iPhone 4 in a washing machine with soap 1 day ago. It was completely dead when I found it. Washed with fresh water and then with isopropyl alcohol to remove all residues. I'm using a hair dryer and a 2 pounds of silica to remove water.

It turns on, but with NO sound or WIFI. Everything else works. There is water marks in the lcd, so, i will keep itit in silica more time.

Is it possible to get wifi and speaker working again without any repair (just letting the phone dry)?

I insist on not shaking the phone before opening! The iPhone HAS NOT been soaked into water, but only some small amount of water has entered from it's small holes. As a proof the video shows that there is almost no air bubbles coming out of the iPhone, only too small ones just after immersion. The shaking won't have any good effect. The water that is out of it can be cleaned with a towel (or your clothes in an emmergency). The water that just entered must stay close to the iPhones openings.

The video has a WRONG move! They guy is shaking the phone just right after he got it out of water. Just use a towel and hold it still! Don't shake it, because that way you force the water thatis out to get in and the water that got in to go everywhere. Don't shake it! Just use a towel and then, well..., open it and do what the guy suggests!

@CyberWalker2004 I wouldn't say it's wrong...water is already in the phone...that's why we disassemble it and place it in silica packs. The mild shake is irrelevant and does not cause any further damage. The silica dries is regardless of where the water is located on the board. I'm going to have to disagree on that one. :-)

I never disagreed about the silica gels (as some other members did) or about the way they are being used, I see and understand completely and approve the way you use them. I focus my objection on the move you make BEFORE you open the phone. That is because I believe that water HAS NOT flushed completely all the circuits of the phone.
