Hey man, thanks to you my writing is going from school work to professional novel development. I used to think that I would never like my works, but thanks to your videos, I'm really happy with my new results. I'm actually writing now. Thank you.
I don't really get this. So, every single part of our written thing has to be about a character trying to achieve something? Well, I get this about the like, large battles where they are trying to win and opponents and other things block their path but, what about just doing something simple? Like walking to a location? Or talking? Its not like there is some kind of obstacle and the character is gunna fail like 90 times.
Then the walking to the location shouldn't be in the story. What is the purpose? Now,if you did some character building with that travel time, then that is fine. At least something that advances the story is taking place. I recommend adding humour or something to that part.
But if nothing happens but the traveling time, then just sum it up. They traveled for five hours and reached blah blah.
Arch, this is cheeky of me, I know, but I have three manuscripts worth of novels *cough* hopeful novels. My mind is going crazy, its filled with these ideas than none of them are good enough and I keep swtiching from one to another.
Thus, I am losing the plot of them all and going over every bloody sentence time and time again.
I feel like I should restart, throw 4 years worth of work away and restart with a new plot.
