  • i miss playing contrabass clarinet on this. :(

  • it's all about the 4 measure trombone solo like 20 from the end..SICKEST THING EVER

  • LOL

We played this as a movement in out marching band show. It was awesome~!

  • We played this song in my all county band!! I was the 2nd chair Trombone and this one of the most fun, exciting Wind Ensemble pieces I've ever played!!(I'm more of a jazz person, and I still loved this song!!)

  • John Mackey must hate clarinet players -______-

  • @SweetLittleElise they always get fun parts he decided to give everyone else a chance

  • Rygar, anyone?

  • The percussion section from 3:16 forward is amazing. Clarinet part on this so much fun, our symphonic band swept CMEA with this, Undertow, and Amazing grace last year. Go CHS.

  • Sweet tune! My High school marching band got this music arranged as part of our show, and our percussion director wrote custom drum parts. Its gonna be sweet.

  • @rhspercussionistguy How'd it go for contest?!

  • @boingokky Great, we won Grand Champion in a regional competition with it, but sadly in State, we did not make finals. D: But I know we had a strong show, and we performed the heck out of it. So Im proud either way. :)

  • @2fieldhockeyfreak1. yes but you would have to read it in tenor clef

  • @treblemkr247 bass clef you mean. bassoon is in bass clef.

  • @joshuastafford42 No i dont for the beginning solo it is in tenor then after that solo goes back to bass clef

  • Hooo boy. When our school played this, I volunteered to play the E-flat clarinet part... It's a beastly arrangement, let me tell you, but worth every second of watching the flute section's faces when I hit the altissimo notes. :D

  • The opening theme sounds EXACTLY like Incantation and Dance by John Barnes Chance...

  • First Trombone = amazzzzziiiiinnnnggggg. (: <3

  • wait is that a english horn or a bassoon at the begining?

  • @2fieldhockeyfreak1 english horn

  • @2fieldhockeyfreak1

    bassoon.

  • @TheBeckaStarr thats what i thought thank you!

  • @2fieldhockeyfreak1 5Fan5 was right actually, it's an english horn

  • @bboydlover101 im right cause my band played this

  • @5Fan5 so did mine and the english horn had that part

  • @bboydlover101 but could you use a bassoon instead of a english horn in the beginning?

  • OMG. amazing piece! TROMBONES FTW :)

  • Tapp Middle School Band Baby! <3 Search it up if ya want, I'm not lying (:

I'll tell you though, it was extremely hard to learn

    But we sounded amazing!!

  • Best version on youtube.

  • Another one where, yet again, people brag brag brag.

Can't we all just discus what about this piece we love listening to?

Like the amazing groove and feel to it x)

  • hey that's my birthday!

  • hey that's my birthday!

  • I didn't know middle schools had English Horns to begin with.

  • Played this at our band concert this week. I LOVE THIS SONGGGGG AGHHH

  • We just played this song for our Region concert yesterday. It was absolutely amazing...

  • the one in gp?

  • @wowzerz546 Yes, it was that one. Were you in it too?

  • I have fond memories of this song. I played the huge trombone solo towards the end of the song at a band competition in high school. The feeling I got when everyone else just cut out and it was just me belting the solo was indescribable.

  • Wow! I just tried playing the solo right now and I got almost all the notes by just hearing it!

  • Excellent saxophone work, well done - Proud alto player in Wind Ensemble

  • This is so Amazing! I LOVE it!

  • sounds like some kind of sight read... its good, but there is no character in it or anything

  • my 1st band in middle skool is plyimg this for uil and they are rockn at this

  • @LuvsTater there is no way that a middle school band could play this song, its a class A in high school

  • @darthmitsurugi No way dude! We played this in our middle school symphonic band, and our saxophones kicked ass! Our teacher told us it was class A high school, and we did well, it's totally not impossible

  • @MonokoChan where do you go to school, b/c there's no one from around here who would do that with middle schoolers, and our district is top 10 in the country for music ed., no joke.

  • just played this for 1234A KMEA State Band. Epic.

  • man u guys good

the band im in cant get this song down just right >.>

  • damn the trombones kick ass in this song

    I am a proud trombone

  • @swagger234 I'm a proud trombone player as well! But from one trombone to another: This is not a song. A song has words, this is a piece. I'm not bashing you, I'm helping you out in the long run!! Trombones do rock hardcore in this piece. Haha!!

  • @pickleboy01 heck yes trombone players FTW :)

  • @swagger234 omg. you and me both!!! our high school wind ensemble is playing this and i have the HONOR to play the trombone AND play the 1st part, and get to play the amazing solo :)

  • @Veg2012 DITTO! I'm sooooo excited for our concerttt(:

  • @swagger234 My school is playing this and I have the bass trombone part

  • @5Fan5 same here. 110 fucking measures of rest smh

  • Comment removed

  • @swagger234 ur a trombone trololololololo

  • Sorry for the double post... but I'll probably record and post my performance, too.

  • Once my school is done with festival, I am going to play drum set to this song. For the lulz.

  • playing it this year in our wind ensemble(band sophmore tuba player at spring woods hs) absolutely love it

  • 1st trumpet, UMaine Concert Band. So much fun, my favorite part is 4:28.

  • I approve sir. I approve.

  • I played euph at UGA's music institute last summer. Most amazing sax part i've ever heard at that time. Alot of unique trombone and percussion stuff too. Wish my band would play it... lol

  • I love how around 4:30 it kinda sounds like "The Incredibles" theme music!

Our band is playing this now and it's my all time favorite piece I have ever played, and I've played the clarinet for 6 years!

  • The trombone solo at 4:23 to 4:28 is the best part. We sight readed it a few months ago and our first chair low brass player bashed the hell out of that solo. It's a great peice....ALSO ANY BASS TROMBONE PLAYERS...PLAY THE DOUBLE BASS PART IT'S ALOT BETTER!!!!!!

  • This is our spring/contest music for us down here in Alvin, TX:) AHS!

  • Were playing this and were a middleschool band.

  • this was my favorite song in Wind Ensemble. too bad we didnt play anything as fun after that :[

  • nebraska all state this year is gonna be epic

  • This beats redline tango..

  • i played this for my high school wind ensemble last year, first flute =) we soo want to do an encore this year, we loved the song so much. this version is too fast for my own personal taste, and based off of how my band performed, but still one of my alltime fave songs. =)

  • I played this song at WVU honors band this year. By far one of the best songs Ive played in any honor band.

  • I was in that also. What do you play?

  • I played the euphonium. 4th chair =)

  • Thanks for posting this, Sarah. -Clay

  • im just in the junior-high thing where we played some other song with high school kids, and they played this... i was right next to the drums and HOLY CRAP it was awesome being next to it... THE CHAIR SHOOK lol

  • i didn't even know that this concert was in existance... thx for letting me knooow and keeping me up to daate! hmph...

  • yea, it's cool and all, but i think a lot of it was copied and pasted from incantation and dance by john barnes chance

  • I played this last year... I had the sax part of the solo

  • bowed crotales!! :D

were doing this for wind ensemble!

  • Dude, the bowed crotales are the sickest thing ever!! And the bowed vibes.

  • this song is amazing.

all-region honor band this year played this at duncanville hs.

  • I played this piece earlier this month. It's my most favorite piece this year. I love the oboe solo and percussive parts and not to mention section N with the 1st trombone part soli. I play the trombone and I blast that part really loud. I absolutely love it! Thanks for posting this.

  • omg, when i was in All-region, we played it in Coppell!

  • Mackey is brilliant. Well done, University!

  • Djembe would be more effective with a greater variety of sounds (needs a deep bass and especially the slaps).

  • my student teacher is in that

i like this b/c we get to play really nasty!!

  • We are doing this within the middle of april next month - really cool piece and we are having a blast rehearsing it!

  • it's nice but the djimbe needs to put more rhythm into it, check out those ghosted-like notes. nd bass clarinet play out louder during the 5/8 time!

  • Were doing this song in cumming Ga for my marching band(Flash OF Crimson). We redid it a little, but it almost sounds exactly like the original you did.
