I have got a very good hint for you to keeping the nice old DOHC Engine in good shape with todays ultra dry eco fuels: Use 1:100 API TC two stroke oil / fuel mix as regular driving fuel, that keeps the old fuel-system gaskets, rubber parts, alloy parts etc... and cast iron metal surfaces of those vintage engines in excellent shape...and it also lubricates the valves and upper piston regions. Most Porsche vintage owners in Germany do so :) Also keeps carbs and tank clean and rustfree

I have got a very good hint for you to keeping the nice old Engine in good shape with todays ultra dry modern fuels, use 1:100 two stroke oil / mix as regualar driving fuel that keeps the old gaskets and metal surfaces of those vintage engines in excellent shape...and it also lubricates the valves and upper piston regions.
Most Porsche 911, Ferrai Dino and mercedes Benz Pagoda 280SL vintage owners in Germany do so :) Also keeps the injectors clean as new!
Not really no, there have been many great french drivers... I live in France and don't see that many dented cars to be honest...
Maybe we could talk about the life expectancy of pedestrians in Italy, something to do with driving skills doesn' it? Last time I was in San Remo a lady got hit by a car right in front of me...
As sports car driver, motor cylist, cyclist and pedestrian and who has driven in numerous countries on both sides of the road. I have attended Le Mans, New Zealand British, German & Belgian GPs and WRC Supercar V8 events I can say that there are mostly good drivers riders and pedestrians world wide but for various reasons mistakes are made and collisions occur. Turkey is the most hazardous place I have yet to drive in.
that's so true.. and i'm alfa fan and i drove a thew alfas my self... But WTF you can't deny that they are just lovely cars.. ones a alfa driver always a alfa driver...
Having driven in Italy many times in a variety of vehicles I have always found the Italian people to more skilled in every day driving than other European countries. No dents on their cars unlike the French.
If you look at the history of F1 there have been many great F1 drivers, Tazio Nuvolari perhaps being the best
Giuseppe Farina became the first Formula One champion
Remember Stirling Moss, recently selected as the best F1 driver of all times by the Daily telegraph never won a Championship
Don't give me that. Britain has produced 8 different World Champion drivers (more than any other nation). 1herp1 is right, Italy haven't produced a winner (F1) since the early 50s. As for Italian's being the best road drivers, that's just bollocks. How come Italian's are born boasters? Are they hiding something?
Because there isn't a opportunity for a young driver to become a professional race car driver. It simply costs too much and there are not programs to help young drivers like in Finland or England. So they switch to bikes. Valentino Rossi began on a kart and then swiched to minibikes (even the kart costed too much!). The only great italian driver at the moment is Jarno Trulli, but his car never matched his talent. Fisichella was a good driver, unfortunately now is a douche.

Italians dont drive cars like this any more nor do we listen to this 'music' it is a streotype. + the wheels on these alfas are rubbish!

The world is ever changing.
The older vehicles however and the music remind many of days and times they enjoyed.
My driving in Italy spans many years 1975 -2004 and a variety of vehicles, All of it was enjoyable

Italians are great drivers and make great driving cars
c2100 4 years ago
Great drivers? Yeah, that's why Italy hasn't had a Formula 1 world champion since 1953.

Italian drivers drive fast, which is not equivalent to say that they drive well.

There are very few dented cars driven in Italy unlike France. A reflection of driving skills perhaps?

The earlier chrome bumpered GTVs looked far better than the later GTVs with big, ugly, plastic bumpers. Monteal looked too American for my liking.
