Christ, no wonder nobody can keep time to that. it may be in 4/4, but there is absolutely NO indication of a downbeat beyond the first three bars or so. you would just have to pick up their tempo from the bass countoff and hope for the best. It seems like most corps' streetbeats are so obtuse nowadays you have to hear them three times to understand them. That said, there's no way to know for sure if the hornlines are trying to keep tempo or just following the feet in front of them.
I'm aware of what a fivelet is, thanks. The description just confused me. I assumed it meant a 4/4 bar with a fivelet on the end, thereby making it a 5/4 or even a 6/4 bar. Thanks for the help.
I didn't mean to demean you. I was just covering all basses in case you were unaware. I also just realized I wrote peace instead of piece. ^^ He was just pointing out that it was funny that no one could march to it even though it was all in common time, and there were only 2 fivelets.

If it's 4/4 plus one fiveolet, then isn't it just like 5/4? Or did I misunderstand?

It is all in 4/4. There are two fivelets within the peace. Time signature is constant in this, the rhythms are what change.
You know a fivelet. 5 notes within the space of one beat.
