What we need is an atheist theologian (and there are plenty of these) debating Ray Comfort, to challenge the claim that the Bible is a particularly moral book - it isn't!

Thunderfoot was right to accept there are unknowns in science. I don't think Ray Comfort ever "stomped" him!

I don't think thunderf00t was stumped. I think he just saw when Ray was trying to steer towards one-way dead-end streets and did not waste time with pursuit in those directions. Obviously time was something of a factor since Ray was so anxious to get out of there at the end.

I agree that we had expectations that were not met. The "Youtube god" comment was still inaccurate - it's not that Thunderf00t was the god we fawned over, faithfully waiting for him to vanquish evil. He markets himself as a creationist-buster, made a public challenge to a popular creationist and encouraged everyone to watch. Given the way he hyped up the event & his history, having a few expectations was reasonable. Even metaphorically, this is not a case of worshipers turning on their god.

I suppose I have a strange take on things, but I don't mind stuttering, and I don't mind tripping over words. It means the person has a lot on their mind, many ideas, and is not sure how to express them all. I have that problem. Add my horrible slavic accent and people don't know what the hell I'm saying. But it doesn't lessen the greatness of his words.

There was nothing wrong with TF saying "I don't know" to the questions of what happened "before" the Universe, or saying it was an unknown. He was totally right, it is an unknown. The only problem was that the discussion was on two different levels, TFs points were even registering with Ray. Maybe TF should have dumbed it down a little, but the whole point was to present two opposing viewpoints. You don't need to call Ray on every fallacy he was using to get people to think.

I agree. To tell you the truth, I respect more a person who says that they do not know than a person who makes up elaborate shit to explain whatever it is they don't know. It makes me feel as if the person is more mature and intellectual as well. It is better to say you do not know that to claim you do, when you do not. After all, even in the Christian belief, there is no mention of what happened before the Universe and the creation. Ray Comfort wouldn't be able to answer the question as well.

One reason why religion is so pervasive is that you're indoctrinated from a very young age. Not only are you told that the ideals are good but you celebrate religious holidays that help you associate the religion with something good or do fun activities in the name of your faith. In some faiths they also reject family members that convert.

In countries, like mine and other Scandinavian countries, where religious indoctrination is not as accepted, religion is not as strong or common.

Creationism v. Evolutionism is a red herring at the end of the day. I fit into the latter category, but each group can grasp the concept of stewardship, and we can come together and focus on that. There is a scriptural basis for stewardship. I wish we could work together toward that end.

Ray Comfort will invariably see this condition is a sign of end times. The is representative of the series in this term: Consensus in their argument is impossible. Ray contradicted himself at some point on the matter of punishment, but that's not material. It goes back to what I said before. We may be on the brink of disaster, environmentally speaking. (con't)

By asking that you're assuming a limited God, creationist believe that God created time, therefore exists outside of it, outside of the time box. Its hard for many to understand this because we perceive everything through time.
