in the end, Skyward Sword ended up being 30 hours to beat and around 50 hours to 100%. Still a fine game though, but Wind Waker is still the very strongest entry in the franchise IMO

I remember someone once telling me in tones of the highest exasperation how they resorted to doing this in WW - leaving the controller alone when sailing from place to place - and I was like "How? How could you avoid goblin pirates, submarines, sharks, fishmen, giant squid, mechanical canons, reefs, islands (needless to say), Beedle trading ships, scavenger crews, sunken treasure, cyclones and whatever - the ocean isn't EMPTY". I really enjoyed the sailing, personally.

I recorded almost 20 minutes of sailing footage for this video. I encountered one cyclone storm but none of them hit me and I was chased by a flying enemy for a minute. Even sailing perpendicular to the wind, he couldn't catch me and knock me out of my boat.  Both of these encounters occurred during an uninterrupted, seven minute stretch of sailing from northwest of Greatfish Isle to east of the Tower of Gods. I never had to touch the controller.

Still a great game though.
