  • Delicious arrangement of a classic song

  • Sounds great. Now I really miss my HD-35. What a great Martin model.

  • Always a great song to use for showing off a guitar's tone. Well done !

  • THis sounds more like the camera microphone than the internal K&K system.

  • Sounds fantastic, getting knk's for my guitars also.

Let me ask, is the video camera picking up the natural unamplified sound of your guitar, as well as the amp?

  • Yes, its so natural.

  • this is acoustic!!!!!!!!!!

  • that really is a great sounding guitar. great presence and sustain

  • @daehanee thanks for watching.

  • Definitely buying a K&K now....thanks man :D

  • @MrLemonChocolate Thanks for watching.

  • wow your sound and style was sooothing, and the k&k sounds niiiiiiice

  • @PRIESTWORLD Thank you.

  • Would you add the Trinity mic to this? Excellent playing, great sound and beautiful guitar. My next guitar will have either the Pure Mini or the Trinity Mini system.

  • @DuskY1991 No, I didn't add the Trinity mic to this HD-35, but I had used it on my Martin D42, 00028VS & 00016fmdb, they all sound great.

  • Very nice Patrick! I own a HD-35 too. We can spend hours just caressing it and feeling its vibes. You play great!

  • @LabFx Thanks, its my hobby in setting the guitar right.

  • Thanks for watching, haha, you mean the HD35 or K&K? You can find K&k on Ebay for just us$86.

  • Yes, I'd just plugged the guitar into my AER ALPHA AMP with no effects added, and the sound was record by the DV internal mic.

  • OMG, does this sound all come from the pickup? just so nice!!!!!!!!

    any reverb or stuff added??

  • Yes, I'd just plugged the guitar into my AER ALPHA AMP with no effects added, and the sound was record by the DV internal mic.

  • @patrickchong2002 wow!!!!!!! how much does it cost?

    nice hd35 btw hhah

  • great bro

  • Thanks.

  • I play a lot of worship/pop/rock music and do some heavy strumming sometimes mostly moderate, im looking for a good acoustic pickup for my epiphone ej200, would you recommend this pickup?

  • wonderful

  • Thanks for watching.

  • Very nice! Are you using a pre-amp or is this straight to mixer?

  • @bosshog1963 Thanks, I just plugged it into my AER Alpha acoustic amp and record the video from a DV and built in microphone.

  • wow

  • Thanks for watching.

  • holy crap.......so beautiful.I'm sold

  • Oh, that's too bad, you should keep it.

  • @patrickchong2002 no I'm sold on the k & K..great demo brother

  • I see.

  • Terrific stuff!! . . . Sounds great, well played mate

  • Thanks.

  • hi man really god job there.. hey i want to ask you a thing.. im thinking in replace the piezo pickup in my parker acoustic for a k&k pickup, but ive heard that it isnt very good in loud situations. I play acoustic in a rock band and things can get really loud in some stages, Do you recomend this for me? is it a fixable situation?

  • Thanks, but this pickup is not so suitable for your situation of performance, it will feedback and hum in such complicated and loud sound source. A feedbuster will help a little. For my experience, it works fine on stage with bass and two other guitar with 3 vocal.

  • Great job! What's that beautiful song?

  • Thanks for watching, the song is "The water is wide" arrange by Ed Gerhard.

  • Great playing, love this arrangement of this song. Your D35 sounds great, very natural sounding pickup.

  • Thanks, its a HD35, with powerful bass and sweet treble.

  • yes it does sound good, I just installed K&K Western Standard in my Taylor DN3 and did a sound comparison vs my mic, check it out!

  • Your video was so professional, thanks for sharing.

  • wow that sounds really nice! i must check out this brand. you play beautifully also. thank you for sharing

  • Thanks.

  • Nice playing, and thanks for the demo.

  • Thanks, hope this using to you.

  • Have you your camera mic on? If so then this is not a true representation of what the pickup sounds like. If not what is all the noise, sounds like it is on.

  • Yes, it was from a digital camera only, not a good set up, the sound level will raise automatically and bring out the noise. I turn on my AMP when recording, its should be mainly the output sound of the Amp with little ambient sound direct from the guitar.

  • say can you please tell us what tuning you're using? it's a pretty nice sounding guitar and musical piece your performing.

  • Its drop D tunning.

  • Great sound. I put the mini's in my J-180. I think they are about the best thing going right now...pure and natural sound as you show in this vid and without altering the unplugged sound.

  • Yes, its just that good.

  • Wow, its really sound sooooo good, its a perfect combination, a great guitar with a great pickup, and a excellent guitarist.

  • Thanks.

  • Hi What strings are you using?

  • I used a set of Daddario EXP 26.

  • Can you tell please us which "Western Mini" system you are using? Is this the "Pure Western Mini" (passive) system, or the "Ultrapure Western Mini" (active) system? Thanks.

  • I am using the Pure western Mini here.

  • That's great news. I'd ordered the "Pure" Westerns on the hunch that's what you had. I am really looking forward to getting them.

    -

    I really enjoyed your playing.

  • HD-28VS? Not even close...it's a D-35 with a non-standard pickguard. It's not an HD-35 as it doesn't have the herringbone trim.

  • Oh, sorry, its my mistake, its a HD35 but the resolution was to low to show the herringbone. You can refer to the three pieces back structure through the sound hole.

  • hey patrick, thanks for remembering me. i'll keep it in mind! thanks again!

  • Thanks, it won't change the sound of your martin as the piezo sensor is just stick on the bridge plate inside the guitar and pickup vibration of the sound board. You can listen to my other video of this pickup on a Martin 000-28vs.

  • This is a great video. Beautful playing too. Thanks for sharing it. Been wondering how this particular pickup would sound on my Martin. Did it change the sound of this guitar appreciably when played unplugged. I hope I don't lose that great Martin resonance if I install one. Thanks again.

  • great video patrick! i play a lot of music that requires body tapping (Kotaro Oshio), does this pickup capture the the body tapping sounds?

  • Yes, it can pickup the tapping sounds from the soundboard and body, even the fingers movement sounds through the strings.

  • thanks for the quick reply! would it be safe to say that if i were to hit top area of the sound hole with my palm, it would pick up a very deep booming sound?

  • Oh, I have to try this and tell you later, I had never try this with this pickup.

  • Try this today and the tapping sound was well under control, no booming at all.

  • Great playing and the pickups sound nice. A lil more bass boom than the highs, but MAN the highs sound like you're playing in the same room. I'm gonna try these. People who do put em on all their acoustics. Preamps are popular with em, too.

  • Yes, this pickup is really nice. But I got some problem with the audio on this video, it just seems like the video cam tends to gain up the volume a lot, have to check the cam if I have time.

  • Great sound!!! But I think the guitar is not a HD 28VS because It is not a 12 frets. Maybe I'm wrong I'm not sure..

  • Yes you are right, HD28VS is a 12 frets, just like the one that my partner using in my other video, but this one is a HD28V, a 14 frets D size Martin.

  • I think is Martin at his best...I'm dreaming of a hd 28VS 0r 28V or simply 28 ;D Great vid..very good and natural pick up sound and playing...thanx

  • Thanks, I am now working on the full version, will put it here later.

  • Wow I've listened to lots of sound samples only listening not to the guiars but the pickups trying to to listen for which pickup sounds most like an un mic'd acoustic and this is it by far! So natural and dynamic sounding Thanks for sharing. BeutiFULL sound and box by the way ;o)

Oh by the way, what did you run it into for this recording?

  • I just plugged it into my AER Alpha Acoustic amp and pick it up directly with my DV internal mic when recording.

  • great, incredibly natural, the best pickup together with the schertler dyn-g

  • Yes, it is natural and very powerful for a passive pickup.

  • May I ask what is schertler dyn-g?

  • It's an external soundboard pickup, write it on youtube

  • Awesome! I'm definitely getting one of those pickups!!! Sounds Great.
