I've tried it, it's OK, it doesn't really have the texture of noodles though, it's much harder.
It's fine when you're on a "no carb" diet because it will give you the feeling you're almost eating pasta, but if you're not on a no carb diet, you won't eat it because you'll always go to regular noodles first.
@Sourpusscandy I will try them immediately. I'm scared to death of this synthetic food. When we take the natural balance out of things we take it out of ourselves.
You can actually get very good deals on ebay. I got 15 packs of the huge kind for just 30 bucks! Beware of the small packages though, they are a rip off. Look for the 14oz. They ship very fast too. It's great because where I live, there aren't that many asian markets, and if there are, they charge a lot.

um duimb question but um well....is the miracle noodle the same as the shirataki noodles? only difference is the shirataki noodles are without soy? I only ask because I thought the miracle noodles were shirataki noodles.
@Anna5151 Thank you :) I'll have to do a search for a whole foods store and H-Mart. we have a K-mart here but never heard of H-mart. I hope it comes to the supermarkets soon because it's way too expensive online.
I noticed that the "plant fiber" is Konjac. Says it right on the package. Konjac can be obtained in herb form and has been used for years as a fat blocker. The biggest complaint is extremely messy bowel movements. So, eat this stuff with lots of roughage. Anybody have stomach/GI issues with Konjac?
I just had my first miracle noodles for dinner tonight. I have been on a low carb high protein diet and I missed pasta. I made them in chicken broth with fresh tomatoes and spinach. Yummy!!! I love this stuff!
I just tried shiritaki angel hair in my pasta meat sauce (mashed meatballs) topped with Romano cheese. It was delicious but I do not like the feel when I chew the gummy pasta. Is there any way to dry the noodles?............Bonnie Leeman
whenever i have them, i put them in a saute pan and heat them that way...you can get a lot of the excess water out that way so the sauces can stick to the noodles...hope this helps :-)
Curious about these noodles. Can you cook with them? Meaning if I made a casserole with them and put it in the oven would it mess the texture or change its form and mess it up?
what an ignorant statement..you are getting full on a NO CALORIE NOODLE!!!, where all other noodles have LOTS OF CALORIES..think about it. you have to be dang near retarded to not see the benefit in that.
In advance, parboil the shirataki.

@shakesgirll No such thing as a "no" carb diet is there?
thespiswolf 2 months ago
@thespiswolf Seriously? A "no carb" diet is something you hear everywhere, if you don't get what it means, I'm going to try to explain:
No carb diet means: you don't eat starchy food (pasta, potatoes, bread, rice, etc.)
Of course, you have carbs everywhere in food, so technically, you can't eat no carbs, it's just a way to say you avoid them as much as possible.
Besides, there are different kinds of carbs, but I'm not going there, it's too long to explain.
Ok, hope you understand now.
shakesgirll 2 months ago
@shakesgirll Never heard of a no carb diet. Low-carb, of course, but no "no carb".

This is great when you wanna stuff your guts when you are dieting...I don't believe it should be an everyday thing though...

Sounds like spaghetti squash. The texture looks similar, and spaghetti squash has like 45 calories per cup.

Shirataki noodles in pasta sauce??? Yuck!!!
Here's a simple recipe that I like.
Mince Garlic, Shirataki Cake - Sliced 1/4 inch thick, Tomato - cut into 1/8, Cilantro - chopped, Green Onion - chopped, Soy Sauce, Jalapenos peppers - sliced.
-Saute garlic in oil
-Add Shirataki slices and saute
-Add tomatoes
-Add soy sauce and salt to taste
-Add jalapenos
-Turn off flame, add green onions and cilantro

If they are zero calorie I don't really see why the fact that you lose weight on them is a miracle!
justanotherpartofme 3 years ago
Perhaps the "miracle" is that they are zero calorie, not that you loose weight.
