This was my first time seeing this video but im sooo glad you made it!! for a while I started to think that all the girls who made make-up vids only used mac! I personally refuse to use it for the same reasons you mentioed- its wayy overpriced!!! thanks!!

well said. also, drugstore products are getting better and better all the time. in the past you would never see drugstores selling mineralized makeup, eyeshadow bases (try loreal decrease if you havent already its great), gel liners, new mascaras of all formulations, etc.. its constantly evolving. for myself, i enjoy both low and high end makeup and my collection has everything. have you checked out my look for less videos? check out the savings for the same look using high end vs. low end!

VITABELLAMAKEUP: Yes girlie I have seen your "looks for less" vids and you are freaking awesome for that! People tell me on my FOTD's on MUA "I would have guessed you used all high end stuff" because there are some really good drugstore stuff out there and with the right techniques you can make it look just like MAC. But I totally agree with you when you say DS stuff is constantly evolving and there is always something new and even better to try. TY for your comment VITA I miss u!

girl do you, you dont need to give an explanation on why you dont get high end brands your awesome and i agree i was in the mac addiction but then stopped and went back to drugstore brands which work just as well as mac and if i dont have the color you have i match it with eyeshadows i have. but like i said i cant wait for another video on m/u :)

I was inspired by your previous vids and I loved how you always used d/s m/u. I was a girl on a tight budget and couldn't afford all MAC items. I always looked forward to your vids because you achieved amazing looks with low cost items. However, I did fall into the MAC phase when I kept watching YT. Don't get me wrong, I won't ever knock d/s m/u because I am a drugstore girl at heart but I guess it's just personal preference.

Girl i am so with you on this its not always worth the money and i am too satisfied with my makeup collection besides almost everything has an amazing usually even better replacement color/product lol because for me MAC eyeshadows arent that pigmented

many say MAC is pretty much the best of both worlds in quality and quantity pulleeze honey haha

am with you girl! i only use drugstore makeup and i only have a few expensive products but thats it. with this economic situation not everybody can afford to be at sephora every weekend not even every month!

Girl, I'll take HIP shadow duos over MAC any day and actually I have a confession to make, I do own a FEW mac shadows and whatnot, I own electric eel and chrome yellow and honestly to ME, they are not as pigmented as HIP shadows from Loreal. Honestly, I feel like I gotta layer them on to make it show bright even with my Too Faced Shadow primer underneath, so yea...more expensive isnt always whats better...

i havent found a replacement for yellow chrome nor will i buy it but i know electric eel has a ton of dupes from milani and nyx plus you're way right many MAC eyeshadows arent that pigmented

You are right, there are TONS of dupes for a lot of high-end shadows.

Thank you for being truthful and honest. I found that some L'oreal HIP duos are not as good as others like "Flamboyant" the purple side was just chalky and the color pay off wasnt as good as I would have liked it to be but the more recent ones that have come out seem to have a different formula and both sides of the duos are equally great.

haha, here's part 2.

for a while i've been really into mineral makeup. i don't have much but i think it's really inexpensive. i especially love buying samples because i get bored with the colours and textures easily. i hardly ever finish one shadow. because i have so many i only use each 2-3 times. so samples are great! and if i really love a colour and can't live without it then i can buy the full size. also i find that with a good eyeshadow base almost any brand of makeup is good.

I LOVE buying samples too! It's a great way of having various colors in a fraction of the price of buying a full size jar of just one pigment. I agree 100% that a good base will make any brand of makeup look good. I use UDPP under my NYX jumbo e/s pencils to keep it from creasing as much but I may look into paint pots. NYX jumbo e/s pencils tend to crease in 4-5 hrs even with UDPP under =/

i use an artdeco eyeshadow base and even my cheapest shadows don't crease. maybe they fade, but that's it. not sure if you have it in the US, it's around 10$

i think i'm lucky i live in a country where high end makeup is hard to find and EXTREMELY expensive. we have no MAC no urban decay, our sephora and douglas doesn't even have half the items and brands they should have etc. so what you call drugstore items are actually pretty high quality items over here. our drugstore makeup is really cheap (both in quality and price) and few people use it. sure, i could buy high end makeup online but i'm perfectly happy with the ton of makeup i already have

I love this explanation video. I like watching beauty gurus on You Tube that use MAC or other higher end makeup brands, however that's not what I use. I have never been in the position to be able to invest that much money on a single item of makeup. So that's why I love your channel, anything you use is very accessible to me.

I totally get where your from on being satisfied with what you have, and for a very long time I only purchased drugstore brand products. Once I was introduced to Mac, it got a little crazy at first, with me buying and buying. It is a love I have and still purchase it, but have cut down to only buying like one item a paycheck. Also though, Mac is really the least expensive of the highend brands. Their eyeshadows I know are at least 10$ less than other brands.

I understand where you are coming from...but i realized that i payed between 10.25 and 14.50 for a mac shadow and it is going to last me a long time. and i know that you can get an eyeshadow for 4.00 but the color is not as bold and it takes a longer time to blend it out...and i have noticed that it doesnt take me as long to do my make up now...but i still have all my drug store brand make up

I completely get where you are coming from. I have stepped into Sephora and swatched eye shadows from different brands and noticed how much more pigmented they are or how soft and easily blend-able it is so I completely agree with you on the difference of quality over quantity for your money.
