I did pageants with my daughter...never put any makeup on her. We didn't do them for long. @idinakristinwicked Well it depends on which dance studio. My aunt had a dance studio for years and all you would see is light makeup, not a big deal. Then there was another studio closer to where our little town was and those girls from that dance studio would appear and recitals and school variety shows with butt pads, and enough makeup to disgust a prostitute.
its not really the studio its the lights some places have lighter light systems than others. My old studio had very intense lights so we had to wear ALOT of make-up so they would be able to see our faces but my highschool which does dance has less intense light so we dont have to wear as much make-up.

Both pretty CHILDREN. The children grew up way before thier time, way too sexualised for kiddies that have not even made it to double digit age!! Jonbernet was like a child human barbie. Naturally stunning and would have grown into a knock out, but one to love because she did not have an in your face beauty that was made up of clothes and slap. i love pageants.....i think it is funny to read or hear people say "this is stupid. Little girls shouldn't be judged like that. All it does it make them really competitive. They don't want to do that and their parents are forcing them to do it." Truth is....MOST little girls love doing pageants. This whole pageantry thing is bizarre and sad, but fascinating. These poor little girls, whose mothers push them repeatedly in the pageant circuit and push fierce competition on their daughters (not occasional fun), will never become self-defined. They will spend their entire lives trying to please someone else, and they will define their own identities by what others think they should be. This is so emotionally unhealthy and sad!

I did pageants with my daughter...never put any makeup on her. We didn't do them for long. I am telling you that JonBenet's mom was wrong to sexualize her daughter as much as any mother would be wrong. It's not just the pageants its even some kids' dance recitals...butt pads on little girls, heavy makeup, all give a girl a "look" that in no way is healthy.

@idinakristinwicked Well it depends on which dance studio. My aunt had a dance studio for years and all you would see is light makeup, not a big deal. Then there was another studio closer to where our little town was and those girls from that dance studio would appear and recitals and school variety shows with butt pads, and enough makeup to disgust a prostitute.

its not really the studio its the lights some places have lighter light systems than others. My old studio had very intense lights so we had to wear ALOT of make-up so they would be able to see our faces but my highschool which does dance has less intense light so we dont have to wear as much make-up.

It's really sad. In 1996, JonBenet was found dead in the basement of her home on Chrsitmas night. She was only six years old. She had been stranggled to death and hit over the head. To this day, her killer is unknown, but progress is being made. Some people think it was her parents, but there was no real evidence to support that so they were cleared, and in 2006, Patsy Ramsey, JonBenet's mother died. JonBenet's case is the one of the most famous unsolved murders on the planet.

Swans mother is dead from a heart attack, sadly Swans father died a few years later from cancer. She lives with her older Sister Silva who is her guardian. She no longer competes in pageants.
