You would not have uneducated people that know little about Islam picking the leaders like we do in the West. Secondly the essence of democracy is man made law. Sharia Jurisprudence is not law, but principles that we as Muslims should live by. For example in Italy we have MILLIONS of euros automatically given to the church without a good motivation when you pay the taxes (8 per mille).All the estates of the church, including the buildings used for COMMERCIAL purposes are exempted from the taxes.The italian government pays for the bills of the security of the vatican government.The teachers of religion are choosen by the church without a contest.
