I am not impressed to be honest. A few times he has been caught on the ball. The mark of a good defensive midfielder is positional sense, first touch and vision e.g. Alonso or Gilberto. Song has this although he to can be a bit casual at times. Not hugely impressed by this guy though.
Everybody, search for Etienne Capoue, he is more likely to sign for Arsenal and in my eyes is better than M'Vila because M'Vila is too much like song wheras Capoue is unique, similar to Viera.
Dont need him. We already have a world class Central Defensive Midfielder, Alex Song. Why spend 25 million or 30 million (and potentially higher if its a bidding war) on something we already have when we need a Striker that can score goals in place of RVP or MEYBE another attacking midfielder. And obviously, as a defensive midfielder, he's far from being as good as the likes of De Rossi, Busquets, Touré Yáyá, Mascherano, Wilshere & co. As an offensive midfielder, he's not even in the top100 list. He's a good player, don't misjudge, but he's really overrated because of physical strength. Makelele was small..

We're not title winners, that's not what i'm saying, but we're far from rubbish. The starting 11 isn't as good as last year but the squad is much better this year, much more depth to it, a couple of tweaks in January/Summer and we'll be fine.

@UKRapGenius Looks good, but I would prefer to play 2 in central midfield, buy a quality winger for the left and play Walcott and Van Persie up front. Walcott was born to be a striker and his finishing is improving so much now, I'd hate to see him leave because he isn't getting games in his favoured position.
@MrProudGunner I agree. M'Vila's addition would make for great competition (something that Chelsea, Man U, and now Man City benefit from within their squad) for the central defensive midfield birth. I think he will bring out the best in Song and Frimpong, atthough I do think our need for CBs and strikers is more important.
@manrani90 Diaby is not better than this guy. M' Vila apparently doesn't bottle out of tackles and seems to know when to pass the ball (unlike Diaby, who is overrated anyway). M'Via's not flashy, doesn't go to far forward, so the back four would likely be guaranteed protections at all times. I think he might surprise you and give us what we've lacked since Gilberto - our greatest ever DM- departed (too soon in my view). He looks as though he'll get the job done with medium fuss, no thrills.

Cahill will be free in the summer as he is out of contract hence will onyl get cheaper!!!!! M'VVila is not a copy of song at all, he is much better, however Song gets forward more, and tbh i think Wilshere will play better slightly more attacking than he is now!! We're not title winners, that's not what i'm saying, but we're far from rubbish. The starting 11 isn't as good as last year but the squad is much better this year, much more depth to it, a couple of tweaks in January/Summer and we'll be fine.

Amusing how some AFC fans think hes not worth the purchase and would rather a creative player. I do agree we need a creative player, but we are weak defensively, i mean 8 goals conceded in one game kind of proves it. Hes good he just sits infront of the back four protecting them, song tends to go forward quite often, them two in midfield would be a good combo i reckon. Wld defo free up Wilshire to attack more aswel.

@manrani90 Diaby is not better than this guy. M' Vila apparently doesn't bottle out of tackles and seems to know when to pass the ball (unlike Diaby, who is overrated anyway). M'Via's not flashy, doesn't go to far forward, so the back four would likely be guaranteed protections at all times. I think he might surprise you and give us what we've lacked since Gilberto - our greatest ever DM- departed (too soon in my view). He looks as though he'll get the job done with medium fuss, no thrills.
