that was a nurse shark! look at the shape of the pectoral fins. and the jaw line does not extend far enough on the head to be a tiger.

The dog survived OK - and was a bit scared. Local dive tour boat people said:(to pacify people fears of sharks after this event):

1.They don't use RED inflatable boats

2.They don't chase sharks with boats

3.They don't have dogs aboard.

4th tip, Dont spear fish nearby.....in this case no fish had been caught or speared, it was early morning. However.... some native guys had speared a large turtle already AND maybe lost another that was nearby and injured. Later in the morning a heap of sharks had arrived so something was the attraction..... unless they attacked the shark we ran over? (Very remote possibility).

I would not bet on sharks being color blind.....red was their favorite color years ago. It depends on who is doing the tests. Scientists are forever proving each other wrong - both ways.
