It portrays Christians with all their hypochrisies, shallowness, bigotry, cabalism, stereotypes and narrowmindness. Zach is a Christian star, and everything is less than him is not a real Christian. His stupidity reminds us millions of lives caught in such a dry language, sterile rituals, and obscure conduct codes.

I have the right to be a judge since I don't follow the lord. Christians or all religious people somehow refer to god or jesus as the judge, they say their infamous line "only god can judge" yet, when they are in a friendly circle, they gossip about the person...they have no right. I do, because I live my life freely without having to believe in god.
There is a difference there. Christians are told (most don't listen) not to judge for it is a sin. Atheists are not told that because they don't have a god to tell them. When reading the bible you have to see who what and when is jesus saying somthing to someone. In this case he was talking to the rich young ruler whos real god was his possesions. Dont foget that jesus said he came to give life and love more abundantly. What does abundance mean. u get my point. Think about it. If u gave away al ur possesions u would be poor. dont forget jesus told that man to leave and physically follow him. Dont foget that ppl gave money to jesus & he had a treasurer.
The gospels were written between 40 and 80 years after Jesus allegedly died. If he lived, he spoke a language called Aramaic, maybe a little Hebrew. The gospels were written in Greek. They have been translated so may times by so many people into so many language, nobody knows what Jesus actually said, assuming he even existed (there is no historical record of him). And even if he did say them, he was just another rabbi with a god complex. Think for yourself. Your god gave you a brain, use it.

My theory is that humans developed a "faith" gene that would allow logic and rational thought to be trumped by superstition. They developed this gene because they were afraid and their lives were profoundly difficult. Faith in a mythical paradise helped them bear the trials of this world. But we don't need superstition anymore.
Its cool that you've looked into these things, but you've got to know that the translations were done carefully. There were thousands of texts from the NT, you're right, but when they were actually compared, there werent major differences. Minor spelling errors at the most.
Know that God wants to reveal himself to you. But maybe you've spent so much time proving and disproving... that you missed the big picture. Jesus didnt do theology, he did ministry. He lived it, he didnt read about it.

I have the right to be a judge since I don't follow the lord. Christians or all religious people somehow refer to god or jesus as the judge, they say their infamous line "only god can judge" yet, when they are in a friendly circle, they gossip about the person...they have no right. I do, because I live my life freely without having to believe in god.

There is a difference there. Christians are told (most don't listen) not to judge for it is a sin. Atheists are not told that because they don't have a god to tell them. I think it's awesome that there are a whole lot more people like me that don't beleive in god. Religion is all part of the conformist movement to keep people in line and for people who are weak. As long as you are a good person, no one can tell you your less because you don't follow "god." Grow a spine people.

Free will? How can a theist claim free will and then claim god has omniscience? If "God" knows what your actions will be, where is your free will? foreknowledge of your actions overrides your free will no? God has no free will. If God's omniscient then "it" can't ever change his mind, thus rendering no choice no free will. Cause if God changed his mind, then he's not omniscient, he had to change something thus rendering him not all knowing if something had to be changed.

God has knowledge of our past, present, and future actions, but he did not force us to do them.
It's like if you're watching a football game, and you know the outcome prior to the end. You know it, but you did not cause it. (its a very limited analogy)
We make our own choices, God is just aware of them.
For example; We are free to murder, etc, but God is aware of our actions.

My opinion on christian bands. I know alot of bands that say their christians. They play a show, praise God, Then end. Next, they're signing autographs without mentioning Christ, and some of them drink after a show, and nearly every one of them smoke and swear. Im sure Jesus acted just like them. I've met over 200 bands that claimed they were christians. I've known 11 that told the truth.

Wow. This was kinda painful to watch. I get the humor, but I guess it was more painful than funny because I grew up around people like this. And its exactly because of folks like this that I left Jesus for a while.
But I do think its important to portray these sorts of so-called Christians.. Its a way of exposing some of the pretension.
Jesus does not equal these folks. He is radically love justice oriented, caring for the poor and oppressed. Lets see some of that in this series.

Religion is detestable to me at this point. Religion is what happens when God leaves the room, and i want nothing to do with it. We need the real God of the Bible, not the religious one.

He dude, I can see you want Christians to be painted in a positive light. I do too. But, sadly, too many of us misrepresent the real Jesus. Lets not add to the noise by being combative with follks on here. We need to recognize that Christians can really miss the mark when it comes to what the gospel is all about, and so therefore people have the right to mock them.. But instead of getting up in arms about that, lets live lives that show love to all, particularly the poor & oppressed. Much peace.

We need true spirituality without all the dogma, rituals and empty promises. We need to say that for us, the existence or non-existence of god is unknowable. But the onus of PROOF is on those who postulate god exists. Proving an absence is problematic to say the least.
The search for meaning is of itself divine. Being convinced of knowing the "truth" is all too human.

When reading the bible you have to see who what and when is jesus saying somthing to someone. In this case he was talking to the rich young ruler whos real god was his possesions. Dont foget that jesus said he came to give life and love more abundantly. What does abundance mean. u get my point. Think about it. If u gave away al ur possesions u would be poor. dont forget jesus told that man to leave and physically follow him. Dont foget that ppl gave money to jesus & he had a treasurer.

The gospels were written between 40 and 80 years after Jesus allegedly died. If he lived, he spoke a language called Aramaic, maybe a little Hebrew. The gospels were written in Greek. They have been translated so may times by so many people into so many language, nobody knows what Jesus actually said, assuming he even existed (there is no historical record of him). And even if he did say them, he was just another rabbi with a god complex. Think for yourself. Your god gave you a brain, use it.

Wrong. I have used my brain. I have researched. I have read. I have consulted people who can read the original texts. What I am espousing are not theories, but evidence. My theory is that humans developed a "faith" gene that would allow logic and rational thought to be trumped by superstition. They developed this gene because they were afraid and their lives were profoundly difficult. Faith in a mythical paradise helped them bear the trials of this world. But we don't need superstition anymore.

Its cool that you've looked into these things, but you've got to know that the translations were done carefully. There were thousands of texts from the NT, you're right, but when they were actually compared, there werent major differences. Minor spelling errors at the most.
Know that God wants to reveal himself to you. But maybe you've spent so much time proving and disproving... that you missed the big picture. Jesus didnt do theology, he did ministry. He lived it, he didnt read about it.

Christianity not only fits historically and scientifically, but unlike other religions, we see the world for what it is: fallen.
See, Jesus came because we cant free ourselves. He gave us salvation as a gift because we cant earn the right to a relationship with a Holy God. And when people accept that gift, their lives become radically different Not because they were hammered with rules, but God's love so radically moves them, that they can only turn around and pour that love onto others.

Stephen hawkings, Albert einstein both were great minds but could not come up with a positive sound point of why we were created.
