This was one of the best Metal Gear Games in my opinion. 4 was pretty good but it got way too confusing and ridiculous towards the end. Also, 2 would have been good if Raiden wasn't such a pain to play as, his character was pretty lame for a so called special operative. I understand Raiden was made to show snake through someone elses eyes, but he was just annoying.

I think MGS3 was the best out of the series. MGS4's plot had some holes in it, like the stories about the Beauties and the Beasts. Their stories were lame as hell. I think MGS and MGS3's bosses had the best pasts/stories. Oh, and PS, Vamp is an annoying fucker.

"How can you say that ?" You say. Bringing back characters just to kill them off with some BS virus is not epic (Big Boss). Dying for a corpse whom you knew wasn't the authentic one makes no sense (EVA), and a guy who you thought was being taken over by another guy until he reveals he's pulling everyone's tail is confusing as hell (Ocelot). You can agree to disagree but this is how I see it.

They didn't have accents because they weren't speaking English. You were suppossed to imagine that they were speaking Russian. After you speak to Sokolov for the first time, you hear it in English, but then Sokolov tells Snake his Russian is impressive. They just used English Voice actors so they game wouldn't be pretty much all subtitles.
