I like to remember this Fugazi rather than the stern, serious band they became later on. I was at this show and remember thinking Ian was kind of funny, cracking jokes and making comments. Anyway, this show as cool. Great band and inspired individuals.
Fugazi always had what bands now days, even bands with more "talent", never have....complete and uncompromised artistic integrity! Fuck the establisment! I like to chew my own food thank you!!
It was so fucking hot in that place that night, my shirt was drenched with sweat just standing there. As usual, there were tons of technical problems, but that's not what that shit was about. Too bad you didn't get the Fidelity Jones set - I don't think there is ANY video of FJ at all. Good stuff!
Yeah, I remember this show, the last happy go licky showat the 930, and the first fugazi show at DCSpace as having a huge influence on my life. Awesome, awesome moments.
Yeah, I missed the first fugazi show at the space, but I remember the other two. In particular I've never experienced a mass phenomenon like the reaction when HGL played "Dig Deep" at the end of the 9:30 show.
I assume you mean "Drink Deep" and yeah it was fantastical when Guy came out and said, "this is an old one" and everyone poshed cuz they never played any ROS stuff but when that bass line kicked in to "Drink Deep", the place erupted for 5 minutes. I have that show on cassette. The quality sucks but sometimes I'll listen to it and remember when....
