Well ... I for one -- ain't too interested in the K itself.. but rather in the Te Anua restoration society's purchase of the 3 wheeled Ex-NZR (Gore) IPWay's Pull-Pull trolley - around about the same time -- (roughly 1997).
This of course is K97, now part of the Manderville Railway outside of Gore...However everything talked about in this ancient 1985 news report all came to nought! Even the Kingston Flyer is now history! Ironically the tourisim boom predicted didn't arrive untill 1999...
Very interesting; the railway would be a nice start to the Kepler walk. I'm not so sure about flogging up to Mt Luxmore and finding I could have got there on a funicular!
Thus-- I would actually LIKE to know what became of their $250 purchase (Purchased from ? wow -- I was still a Galloway Farmer - about then)..
