  • You forgot Rock Lee from Naruto who used this move and called it Primary Lotus.

  • And Hattori Hanzo from Samurai Shodown use this technic too

  • it didnt spin...

  • damn!!! this shit blows american animation from '69 out of the water.

in fact, we didn't start doing stuff this cool until the late 80s.

Japan, always ahead of the game.

  • @rarezas1959

first, those were all movies, not shows.

second, this intro is still better than practically everything on that list.

look, dont get me wrong. I love a lot of what you listed. but i dont let national pride or bias get in my way.

  • not fatal fury my bad it was samurai show down

  • the first time i saw the izuna drop galford and hanzo the two ninjas from fatal fury did it

  • If my brother's Badazzle program worked, I'd make a video of all the video game Izuna Drop moves I know of, or at least in fighting games.

  • So I'm assuming that an Izuna drop is basically the art of catching someone in the air and forcing them to the ground in such a way as to break your own fall while making them land as uncomfortably as possible?

Just wondering because up until now I thought it was a glorified German suplex.

  • oh that was a man. i thought it was a girl.

  • i want this show :) Please does anyone know if anyone has released a fan sub?

  • Σ:)<That based on comic.

  • LOL in basara apears this move

  • 0:45 VEGA WINS! PURRRFACT!

  • I miss the realistic look they had back in the day. Not it's flat/no noses unless seen sideways and ridiculously huge glaring eyes.

  • @brucenatelee old anime at the best

  • that swan got its shit FUCKED UP

  • I wouldn't call it the Izuna drop I would call it just a drop. The I zuna drop is grabing someone in midair and then the person starts spinning like a top. The Izuna drop is like the primary lotus

  • @megamanzzzzx

Uhm, have you ever played Street Fighter? Vega's Izuna Drop doesn't spin either, yet that's what it's called. In fact, I believe Vega's throw is the only variation that has that's called Izuna Drop.

Later on, some crazy DOA ninjas started doing spinning versions, but Vega did it first.

    So there.

Also you should copy paste this to at least 4 other videos, or next week you'll suddenly be Izuna Dropped by a girl who died mysteriously 10 years ago.

  • @ShoRyuBarbie Your wrong by miles. Izuna Drop was created by this show in 1969 in the manga, after the main character watches birds fighting he uses it to create the Izuna Drop. This came out BEFORE Street Fighter.

  • She turned into a man at the end.

  • OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW!

  • Pretty bloody for a 60s kid's anime!

  • Japan has a different way of thinking than the USA.For example in DB/DBZ/DBGT they actually showed Goku, gohan and others naked.

  • The US is very conservative when it comes to cartoons, not thinking that cartoons give you much more privileges to do things you can't do in live action (aka cartoon vs. real flesh).

  • @Nicholas121093 It only showed the kids naked and they actually did show it at one time in the us. (btw GT sux)

  • @ultm8ninja i sadly have seen goku(adult) nake in my Tv and damn you for making me remenber that.

  • i remember that here in america action cartoons where all about good vs. evil (evil ones were evil because...they whanted to rule the world/universe...wow...how complicated villains were at those days). o.o

  • awesome =]

  • izuna drop is a ninja gaiden black move

  • 変異抜刀霞切り

    漢字これであってますか?

  • I remembered about Jubei Yamada of "Fatal Fury 2". He used this move.

Even ninja Kirby too. (Kirby Super Star)

  • Lets See.. all the izuna drops and mods I can remember, feel free to9 add to it

    Ryu Hayabusa's Izuna Drop

Rock Lee's Primary Lotus (by exension, Sasuke's Lion's barage and Naruto's Uzumaki Barrage, I guess)

Raven (virtua fighter) I dont know the name of his, but he backflips and slams you

    Hanzo Hattori's Izuna Drop

(once the full list is made, someone should make an Izuna drop montage, sadly, I don't have the time)

  • it a ninja technique on tenchu z/seran

  • they sure used to have a lot a bloodz back then

  • Lest we forget Hanzo Hattori's modified version. Straight Izuna Droppin' fools back in '93, y'all.

  • Damn right.

  • izuna drop is a badass move

  • I was watching this when I was in elementary school in Japan. It was in summer morning anime section.

  • too cool!

    5/5

  • Rock lee uses this, by the way.

    All time fav move.

  • yeah, rock lee for the win :)

  • it looked more like a tackle than anything to me

  • um...where exactly is the izuna?

  • Izuna is a japanese type of fox spirit.

  • i meant the actual izuna drop.

  • In the last 20 seconds of the video. He flips, lands on top of the opponent's torso, inverting him downward, headfirst as he holds on to him.

    The concept is there.

  • ur right. well at lest ryu is a cool character to use the izuna unlike most others.

  • at 0:42, when he grabs in mid air the other ninja (the mozu otoshi is a fantasy drop)

  • It's amazing how popular the Izuna Drop is in fighting games. Vega (Street Fighter), Maki (Street Fighter), Kage-Maru (Virtua Fighter), Ryu Hayabusa (Dead or Alive), Yoshimitsu (Tekken), Taki (Soul Calibur). All don't have the acutal skydiving-suplex-ish move, but do have mid-air slams of some sort.

  • Sasuke has a drop too.The falcon drop

  • He does, but I meant entirely video game characters. However, in the anime (haven't played the games), Sasuke does have a piledriver move he did on Orochimaru during the Chunin exams, as well as Rock Lee's Hidden Lotus, which is the epitamy of the Izuna Drop, but with the wrappings on the opponent.

  • Dont forget DMC4. Neros move on the Gold Nights

  • He's not a ninja (could be with his awesomeness) and it's just a simple suplex on the ground before a drop kick. My favoirte grab in the game on a normal enemy though.

  • I thought you knew that he has a Spinning Suplex on the Gold Knights when you are in DT?

  • I... didn't know that. I never used the Devil Trigger much just in case I needed it for the bosses.

  • Its a double Suplex ended off with a Spinning one. I like the way he spins because you can see him starting the to pick up speed of the spin and then boom!

  • Kagetsura in sengoku 3,Tizoc in KOF 2003... this moveis really cool!!!

  • Wow, was this really made in 1961?

  • Oh I'm sorry, I mistook. This anime was made in 1969.

Even technology was poor, old anime are give me impression.

  • Considering what the US was doing on TV with animation, Story-wise, this show is very impressive.

The US never even tried to do anything is a serious manner in those days.

  • Te lo iba a decir yo, pero te diste cuenta tú solo.

  • Así es. Y el manga es anterior aún: de 1965.

  • It's ridiculous to see rock lee calling izuna drop as omote renge.
