Great short- and absolutely fantastic as a student project, and was turned pretty faithfully into the full feature (which I just saw tonight for the first time). At 10 minutes its less unremittingly bleak than the full version.
Sound design was particularly good on the short, I thought
It's sad that the short almost made more sense than the feature-length film. Maybe he was / they were hoping for a sequel to explain themselves. With all of the people working on the long film, you would think someone would raise their hand and say, "Uh... this doesn't really make any sense and the ending is really poor." Too bad.
This is awesome! Honestly the whole concept is much better suited for a short story like this. The film version felt very wanting by the end, but this way the mystery keeps the world and backstory more realistic and believable.
Wow, they took a good thing, added some action and a romantic subplot and turned it into a feature film. Brilliant director and animator, too bad about the producers.
This is, sadly, better than the feature-length film. I actually watched the full length movie first, THEN found out it was a short movie first. I was a little disheartened to see that this is almost shot-for-shot the same, and that the other movie is basically just this, but padded. This one is extremely innovative, but the other one, while entertaining, can't quite manage to tie itself off correctly. The full length movie is still worth watching, and entertaining to boot ;)
