MCRD San Diego MRP 2 Winter 2007

MRP sucked my Irish ass and this Marine only had to deal with it for 1 month as a recruit. Longest month of my life in boot camp. I got to see 2 malingerers hauled off and taken to court martial and 1 unsuccessful suicide attempt. The rest of boot was a cake walk by comparison after dealing with that kind of mind fuck. Advise to all the future recruits who will, by busting your ass hard, earn the title of Marine, stay the fuck out of sick call unless you're on deaths door step. Semper Fi Marine

@jesseramoneman Being in MRP is shittier than the rest of bootcamp combined. I agree that people joining for the health coverage is BS, but it's not even close to half. Most of these guys I met and talked to on a daily basis and were there because they broke in bootcamp, not before.

when i was in boot camp, i had a friend who went to mrp.. he told me all they did was watch movies. they ate twice as much as a normal recruit and just wrote letters all day! they got their name tapes on their camies and dog tags and web belts before the regular recruits! i wasnt an examplitory recruit! but i busted my ass to earn those things! fuckin mrp pussies!

You obviously have no idea what you're talking about. MRP was infinitely worse than being in a training company. You sat around waiting for medical to stop jerking off on your chits for non-sense injuries that kept you out of training for months. PCP were the nasty ones.

MRP is built to be somewhat of a healing environment, so of course lower body injury people will be sitting around. So get over yourself. You sound like a pansy ass boot PFC.

What the HELL, Moms in the Squad Bay !!! Walking all down the middle of the SQUAD Bay too ! Seems about right for this platoon, seems like a lot of those recruits were on light duty. Never seen so many pairs of crutches. I guess this is the platoon for injured recruits waiting to get back into the training cycle. I for one NEVER wanted to spend one more second in boot camp longer than I needed to so to be in boot for longer than 3 months had to be tough.

Thank you to the Marine Moms. My son wrote home how much he appreciated the goodies and the visit. It was a great morale booster and I am grateful to those who took time on Christmas Day to visit our boys. I was excited to get the chance to see a little of where my son is.
