I just started prepping and ordered 2 buckets of Wise food with 56 servings in each bucket..tasted a few pkgs before a I bought..and they were great..found each bucket for 105 dollars plus shipping..need to get a case or 3 of mre's nxt.
I haven't bought any A-Pack in a while...they must have changed the sides a little. I store mine in my basement and have eaten them when they were around 4 years old without issue. I like to keep those on-hand because everything you need is in there plus the chemical heater is nice as well. When my MREs get close to expiring, I use them on hiking, kayaking or camping trips.
i've watched your videos for a long time now, just wanted to stay keep it up,great videos here! but one thing, the mre's don't waste water heating up the damn thing just eat it,4 years in the active army not once heated one there's no need brother.
Good job. I am finding my dehydrator and my co2 packs are my best friend. I dried string beans I am thinking I have about 10 meals in 1 quart jar. They will last longer then the 30 pints I have already canned. Space server 1000 percent
Because of limit I'm going to K.I.S.S. With prepping nutrition is #2 only to water, yes, it's that important. I would not prep more than 30 days instant food, and it is def not for a snack or treat. You need to make sure you have a complete protien from veggie sources. Easiest is corn, beans, squash, or the 3 sisters. Also easiest to grow. With those 3 you do not need anything else, but you will want it. Also, each person should have stored a years supply of multivitamins. continuing.
@dataphreak Freezedried is definitely the best. Not only is it light weight, but it also retains nearly all its nutrition. MREs are bulkier, heavier, and bad for you not just because of junk calories. If you try to live on MREs you will pickle your liver pretty fast. Finally, you need to grow food, and I'm sure you will get to this in another video or have already covered it. Seeds keep for years, but if you don't practice growing now, a bad crop could mean game over. Start a small garden today!
Great review your honesty is very helpful when we are spending our limited resources on such supplies. Dave do know anything about prepping for someone with food allergies? I've heard you mention them before. I can't have gulden. It's bad when I get into it. Your thoughts on the matter whether it's food to purchase, grow or can would be appreciated - if you have some free time in the future. I know you're busy.
why did i let my stuff expired simple lost income to replace what i had had a wonderful six person tent that fell apart two years ago that i have had for over 30 yrs
Very good Education for THE Beginer all my MREs have expired as well as the Life boat packs Because of higher prices The stuff that I want for Long term I buy with the money I have eat 30 days worth and then buy the same package the fellowing month
Oh the Wall of water at my place is gone Family said I did not need it
@astrialkil yes I know ... I just open a can of wheat It will be my breakfast for the next 30 days trying to remember the different ways to cook it a small half cup WITH 2 CUPS of boiling WATER
add salt and sugar buff wheat
TODAY THE Second Harvest of Orlando Fl said That they will have to cut in half the food for the
smaller food banks when they "the Second Harvest" is full now... My cans Expirered in 2005 and 2007
imo there is too much focus on 'storing' store bought items when it comes to prepping .. thats fine for any small 'disaster' type situation .. i think what is coming is going to be more of a permanent type situation where people will need real skills to survive .. its reeeeeal easy to say 'im going to grow my own food' -- ok, but that in itself is going to require 'X' amount of supplies year to year and hands on experience .. i think prepping by storing goodies is a dangerous idea ..
Great video! We're stocking up on canned goods. I also had that exact same Mountain House meal and that Beef Stroganoff is rather tasty. The biggest issue is the sodium. I'm very sensitive to high sodium content, so someone like me would need to consume a lot of water when eating one of those. Those APack meals aren't very diverse. Some come with peanut M&Ms and they have different entrees. Other than that, no selection. The oatmeal cookie with the peanut butter is the bomb, though!
Good vid. Im glad you mentioned the white rice cause of course the Brown 1-2 years white 10 years sealed (like U said). I keep lots of low sodium spam so that can be cubed ito rice, beans whatever to boost calories.
WE are at 2.5 yrs of food, and now make our own ammo!! We have secured 2 locations to Bug out, as we are not in our home state currently. If anyone wants a copy of the LDs Preparadness manual, send me a PM.. I cand save you 8 or 9 bucks!!
A good thing to remember, the Mainstay food rations & something you didn't cover Survival Tabs make good food preps for bug out. Survival Tabs are the most lightweight space saving ration you can get out there. It is not something to enjoy but something to keep you alive. Very good to keep when you are mobile & on route to somewhere more permanent. The Survival Tabs also come in a canteen like container that you can use for water collection. I don't know why more preppers don't mention these.
Uprated. Sent a video response about a negative, ongoing, costly problem with a dishonest American camping/survival equipment supplier (who now claims they don't do retail, but they sure did late last year). Everyone ought to read up on schnitzing apples, Pennsy Dutch method. No equipment needed, just your labor. Great channel. Greetings from France.

For people that have children -- having the same cookie in each package can make life just a little bit easier.
