I have one of these stranded inside one of my central A/C ventilation ducts at the moment-- his little trill echoes inside my living room, and it's very weird. Can't see him, but I hear him a few times a day. A/C guy is coming tomorrow to see if he can find where Mr. Froggie came in and hopefully push him back out into the yard! They're cute in the trees, but I don't want them in the house.
yep, I caught one and it changed color over the course of a couple hours. left it in the tank for awhile, started off brown, but when I came back it was light gray! I was really surprised :)
The spring peepers began calling yesterday - seems very early this year. The grey treefrogs won't be out for at least a month but I've copied this video to have on hand to strike up a conversation with them. It us quite amazing how easy it is to entice them to sing with an iPhone or a trill of the tongue. I saw some comments regarding their variation in color - in fact individual frogs can change rather quickly between the green and grey colorations.
i love these things, i caught a bunch of tadpoles in oak creek, az which is where i live and brought them home to my tank along with some crawdads i caught there. i thought they were salamanders at first but today i noticed the first one that is physically able to walk/climb/ breathe air etc. does anybody know how fast they grow or how long it takes them to do that croaking noise
do both male and female call?

@puppyyyoshi They're different speices, the shorter call is the copes gray treefrog and the longer laughing one is an eastern gray treefrog.

As frogs go they are pretty easy keepers. I've kept several and I love it when they call.
