I actually agree with Spill on this, I thought this movie was either a low Matinee or rental. I mean this felt like Iron Man 2 all over again, just too over-blown, too long, so convoluted and a lot of under-developed stuff. It's not a bad film and it is entertaining, but it does not match up to the first film for me. And all of you guys who love the film, don't bash Spill for not having the same opinion as you, if you loved it, fine. Don't be a dickhead about it.

@MRsavior22 They did watch the movie, in fact, 2 members are hard-core Sherlock Holmes Fan so I think they would have at least a grasp on Sherlock in general. Just cause they don't agree with you doesn't mean anything. it just means you don't agree with them but you shouldn't have to take it to a personal level. God damn if you would watch season 2 finale of Sherlock. Fucking mind blowing! Forget the last 15 min of this movie. Sherlock BBC is seriously one of the best adaptions if Sherlock Holmes. Cumberbatch and Freeman play great Holmes and Watson. And Moriarty, makes my skin crawl of how methodically evil he is. More people in the States need to watch it. In my heart, i love this sugar coded RDJ holmes but seriously, Sherlock BBC is amazingly good.

It's not gonna live up the books, but this movie had two things going for it: It got Moriarty and Holmes' relationship right, and Mycroft was done well. Just... I wanted more Mycroft.

Spill, I have to firmly disagree with you on your rating of SH: A Game of Shadows. It was a really good film. High Full Price. for me. I thought the pacing was better, the villain seemed more sinister, and the leading ladies weren't idiots. And who knows (addressing fans who saw the first, SPOILERS), the remote device and sleeve gun may be used in future films. B/c lets face it, Moriarty has just as much deus ex machina to do what ever the hell he wants to do.
I feel that you guys were a little too judgmental with this movie. I mean it really wasn't that obvious. Maybe it was a bad day for you guys when you saw it, but I think it was actually a great movie. Holmes was more interesting, Watson was more interesting, Moriarty was great.

It wasn't all that cool, EXCEPT of course for the slo-mo, in your face action.
But then the forest scene came along, and I was just blown away. There was just SO MUCH speed up-fast forward and explosions, and that camera trick, where it focuses on a single object in motion, and it was just so. . . so GREAT!
When I think about this movie, I only think of the action scenes, and MAN were they awesome!

Personally I enjoyed the movie. But the downsides to it was the fact that it wasn't really Sherlock Holmes, but RDJ and Jude Law played their roles really well. Moriarity is cool, but I can't help but feel that they kind of wasted him in the film, since it feels as if they rushed the movie. But other than that I enjoyed it and had fun. So I'd give it a Strong Matinee.

Sherlock holmes is a detective. There was very little detective work. Everything seemed to be thrown together at pivotal points in order to allow the directors the right of saying "hey, look, this is actually a mystery". The two movies were much more targeted toward the general audience than toward any rightful fan of the actual books. As an action movie, it was fun. But this was no sherlock holmes movie.
I'm not surprised this got a relatively low rating. I never saw the first Sherlock Holmes, but it tilted way more towards a typical action movie than a mind boggling mystery that Sherlock Holmes stories are famous for. First one looked pretty bad and the sequel turns out worse, what are the odds.
Just watched this at the theaters; i have to agree with spill.com. The movie was ok, but the plot went all over the place. The whole movie is basically Holmes acting goofy and having a bunch of random encounters with evil Moriarty and his thugs. At the end the film ends inconclusively, literally.

I loved the hell out of this movie. As soon as the side stuff came in I recognized that this wasn't gonna be a pay attention and think plot but instead a sit back and enjoy the ride plot and while that can bring a movie down (like immortals) if you let go, it can just be a fun little experience and I respected what they did accomplish in making it a fun experience. Since they're paid movie critics, they pretty much review every movie that comes out. They just don't make videos for every review because that would take up too much time. All of their audio reviews are on their site, you can listen to them there if you want. :)

Sherlock holmes is a detective. There was very little detective work. Everything seemed to be thrown together at pivotal points in order to allow the directors the right of saying "hey, look, this is actually a mystery". The two movies were much more targeted toward the general audience than toward any rightful fan of the actual books. As an action movie, it was fun. But this was no sherlock holmes movie.

Saw it yesterday and I highly enjoyed it and recommend it to fans of the first one. It's a Full Price film to me.

There was just as much sleuthing and witty banter dialogue in this one. It's just that they upped the action up in this one to make it faster paced.
Needless to say, it was awesome.

I'm not surprised this got a relatively low rating. I never saw the first Sherlock Holmes, but it tilted way more towards a typical action movie than a mind boggling mystery that Sherlock Holmes stories are famous for. First one looked pretty bad and the sequel turns out worse, what are the odds.

Just watched this at the theaters; i have to agree with spill.com. The movie was ok, but the plot went all over the place. The whole movie is basically Holmes acting goofy and having a bunch of random encounters with evil Moriarty and his thugs. At the end the film ends inconclusively, literally.

I loved the hell out of this movie. As soon as the side stuff came in I recognized that this wasn't gonna be a pay attention and think plot but instead a sit back and enjoy the ride plot and while that can bring a movie down (like immortals) if you let go, it can just be a fun little experience and I respected what they did accomplish in making it a fun experience. High matinee

Much better than the first one...and thats with the first one being just alright. It seems like most people got butt hurt after watching too much slow-mo and couldn't enjoy it the actual movie. I don't think I've seen a movie reviews that have been this mixed in a long time

WTF were you smoking? Granted, the beginning was a *little* convoluted and had me worried, but everything that came after was so very near genius that this 'overly long' movie flew by. These Sherlock Holmes films definitely are not my favorites, but they are genuinely unique: there is nothing to compare them to.

honestly i really enjoyed the movie, but i do agree that it was really action packed with nothing that really brought out that sherlock holmes feel to it! I did hope moriarty would play more of the villain behind the scenes kind of thing and build up on how he operates and stuff and what makes him so dangerous! but i did love the ending! and i really enjoyed myself so i'm not really mad at the flick cause it was just fun to watch!

The first Holmes was enjoyable at best, but I still prefer the BBC "Sherlock" with Benedict Cumberbatch over any RDJ version of Holmes.

Since they're paid movie critics, they pretty much review every movie that comes out. They just don't make videos for every review because that would take up too much time. All of their audio reviews are on their site, you can listen to them there if you want. :)
