I don't see a single piglet being pounded against any concrete. This is like that game they play in elementary school, where you start a story at one side of the classroom and see how much it has changed at the other end. We humans eat meat, and piglets die, its natural. Does every piglet turn into a adult in the wild? No. Do the predators of piglets care whether their food dies quietly, and in peace? No its hungry, so it eats. You animal hippies are blind.
Wow fuck Canada i wonder how they would like it if their human babies were treated the same way a piglet was AND I MEAN JUST HOW A PIGLET IS TREATED IN THIS VIDEO
@andrew49174 you're not vegan, are you? how would you like if you were treated the same way your daily meals are treated? the only respectful way of coexisting with animals is to stop exploiting them in any way.
But my question is, why do we tolerate the mass killing of piglets at all? The breeding line of pigs used in Canada is TOPIGS. They readily admit a mortality rate in piglets of 12.3%. Why is this accepted?
Why doesn't the pig industry think ahead to reduce suffering and breed in stronger lines with lower piglet mortality?
This is the problem with the pig industry in all aspects. Shortsightedness that results in cruelty.
@TwylaFrancois ==No doubt! All they care about is money. This is BS! The piglets are not a dollar sign or an object! They are a living, feeling, beautiful Animal!!
@Headbanger142 They want to live. How is killing them humane? They have other interests than "not suffering", just like we do, and their murder is unnecessary. The humane thing is to go vegan and stop killing animals altogether.
Unfortunately, these were not stillborns. If they were, they'd still have the protective cartilage cap on the ends of their hooves (which protect the sows cervix as they're farrowing).
Suggested reading: "Piglets" by Dr. Kees Scheepens.
Most of the piglets in that bin were stillborns, and most likely the other ones were sick or had some disease, i mean why would someone kill a healthy pig, u lose money that way!! And as for PAcing, it's pretty much become non-existent, all barns have been ordered to euthanize sick or dying pigs now.
By The Way...there is NO research for this video! There are only images of dead pigs in a bin!The video wants you to believe that American hog producers are just mean people who randomly kill healthy pigs. This video is false & although many piglets&grown pigs die everyday in the United States, all of them are healthy.I understand, however that there are cruel people in the world that will take out their anger on an animal. I'm not sticking up for them! but, most pigs R euthanised cause they R sick
I have worked on a farrow-finnish hog operation for two years. Every operation, according to the PQA standards (Pork Quality Assurance) has a Written Euthanasia Plan which includes the pig's well-being! Piglets that do not die in the womb (still-borns) that are not responding to care or are unlikely to recover MUST be euthanized humanely and timely. To Be Continued....
I have worked in farms for many years now, I 'kill' pigs daily not because I enjoy it... far from, I have to because they are very ill and will suffer a long time before they die naturally. I think the way that we handle our heard is very humane. Before judging someone for this do some more research!!
Nothing in this video insinuated that the pigs are killed for pleasure. A ton of RESEARCH, backs up the claims in this video, including the claim & FACT, that HEALTHY piglets are routinely killed on factory farms these days. If you only had a clue, as to how much RESEARCH has gone into this video...
I have never killed a healthy pig... It is in my opinion that keeping a sick and dieing animal alive and allow it to suffer until it dies on its own is awful and 100% inhumane. In this video you are showing a dead bin that is full of still born pigs, they died in the sow before they were born along with older pigs that were most likely sick. Did they do the lung tests on the young ones, to see if they were born alive or not? Did they test the older ones for illnesses? Very easy to do!!
Were you even there to know the extent of research they did on this video? It looks to me that all they did was open a dead bin and made judgement calls on something they know very little about!
These piglets were NOT killed by PAC...if you notice these pigs are very bloody all over their body! Also, on some of the piglets there is dried "cleanings" or afterbirth on them, meaning they died right after birth or even in the womb.
Were you there for the death of these piglets?? You have no basis for your comment whatsoever. Hmm, seems to me like internal bleeding could be a side effect of being bashed against the concrete. Sure maybe some died right after birth (could still be a victim of PACing!!) or in the womb. Sure, not ALL farms are guilty of PACing, but you better wake up if you think this is uncommon!!
Yeah... I love how the industry says they have to keep animals confined to avoid death to predators... Seems like there's an awful lot of death with pigs, chickens and cows - Especially indoors! Let's face it... The biggest predator of them all is US and our speciesist gluttony! Go Vegan
if you hate humans then you hate yourself. go die with your sacred pigs.
for all you fucking vegans who think youre innocent, you think plants arent living? you kill just as i kill, however you think my killing is cruel and yours is not.
ignorant fucks.
if you want to see real suffering go to darfur or kenya,
I dont hate myself, or humans as a whole, just the insensitive, ignorant ones who use, abuse & kill animals & our planet for profit, or ones who defend these cruel actions, such as yourself. PLANTS dont feel pain or fear. Big freakin difference. talk about ignorance.
I kno all about the suffering in Darfur, in fact I personally know one of the people who uncovered the atrocious genocide & torture going on there. Doesnt have any effect on how much compassion I can still have for farmed animals.
