The model car on top of the TV, I remember those from my local IGA from when I was a little kid. The Dreamcast was a fantastic system with excellent potential, but really the PS2 was superior for the DVD drive in terms of game capacity and the built in movie capabilities. Still have it in my closet. I used S-Video with my dreamcast, makes it look quite smoother as I remember.

the sega dreamcast is still an amazing system. I just went to the local game store and bought a vga switch and hooked mine up to my HD TV and it looks amazing. It can easily compare with the ps2 and gcn.

Stole ideas? What? No. They licensed Windows CE platform (something Microsoft was selling) to power the great Dreamcast and make an easy development interface. This was Pre-Xbox. And Dreamcast wasn't the only one who licensed Windows for a system other than a PC a lot of portables.

habe ungefähr 14 Konsolen daheim und ca 300-400 Spiele dazu. Sollte das mal zählen. Mit der Grafikpower der PS3 kann die DC nicht mehr mithalten. Trotzdem sehen bei DC einige Toptitel besser und flüssiger aus als viele Spiele auf der PS3 oder der 360. Warum: Die Highresolution Grafiken zwingen selbst die neuen Konsolen noch in die Knie und dann ruckelts gewaltig. Beispiel: Fifa Soccer war auf dem GC und der XBOX ruckelfrei.Auf der 360 nur HIGHRESOLUTIONGRAFIKRUCKELATTA­CKENAMSTÜCK Scheiße Hä?

für die DC erscheinen immer noch Spiele. Sogar exclusive. Vor allem topp Arcade Shotter direkt aus japans großen Spielhallen. Ziemlich tuer die Dinger so um die 100 bis 130 US Dollar. Dafür extrem selten und supertoll. Schau hier mal unter: Under Defeat Dreamcast, oder unter "Boarder Down", das ist der absoluter Knaller. Jetzt kommt ja Raiden Fighters (bisher nur JP) auf der 360. Für das würde ich dann auch 300 Euro für eine Konsole auf den Tisch legen.

Ein super ARCADE RACER mit absolut flüssiger toller Grafik. Hab da vor kurzem 2 Jungs in der Kaufhalle mit ner PS3 bei einem Racer gesehen der sah gegen Daytona auf DC stink langweilig aus. Schnurgerade Straße, nichts am Wegesrande, nicht schnell oder flüssig aber dafür kann man jede einzelene Wolke im Autolak erkennen. Was soll das denn? Für das geb ich keine 600 Euro aus. DC gibts mit diesem Spiel für 30 Euro. Ist das Was???

I'm sure most people have heard about this already.. but there's a video out there showing how its possible to play Soul Calibur and Tennis 2k2 using the fishing rod controller for the DC as a weapon and tennis racket, in a similar way as the Wii. Yet another example of how the DC was ahead of its time. Great graphics, interactive games, online game play and surfing!

The Dreamcast disc-reading laser sucks, that's about my only gripe with the console. Apparently it's common in a lot of machines. Can be easily fixed though and apart from that the Dreamcast is perfect

gamefan1984 i have to agree the DC was/is the mutts nuts, they should have never droppped it but, i have 40 dreamcast games and all the official dreamcast magazine's and demos i just need the fishing rod, and also the seaman game (have the mic). the problem i think was the console itself tended to breakdown iv had about 5 or 6 they all overheat or reset themselves i think the future of my dc games lie in emulation on the pc.

and i also think the DC lived on in the XBOX
