My dad was the chief of police in Tehran back in 1979. I remember vividly that when people came in the streets my dad was constantly on the phone with the police department instructing them not to shoot and if forced used water only. I don't know what happened when the army moved in but the police department was instructed not to shoot. It's sad that people can not voice their opinion peacefully in the streets. micmv, again I only state religion is a tool, but I use the word neutrally. We do not need this tool anymore because we have relative control over our lives. We don't have to worry about getting food or being killed.
