  • If I was a musicion and the eigenharp was mass produced in factories and sold for under 1500$ i would so buy it

  • Seems superb.. but its too expensive for the time being

  • Nice played, but will it blend?

  • Welcome into the real future life!

  • its like the 60's all over again with these comments

HOW DARE YOU USE AN "ELECTRIC GUITAR"

    REAL MUSICIANS ONLY PLAY ACOUSTIC

  • @angryheretic The electric guitar has been around since the 30s. Even mass produced models were introduced in the 50s. And they were received rather well.

  • @TheProject104 But that's what this is. All packed into one device.

  • wow this actually is a really nice track

  • pretty durn expressive for an electronic instrument - how 'bout a Wave Drum-er on the 'er, drums.

  • I think that it could be an advanced instrument, but i don't think that it is the future of music. Music always will be made with all of the instruments... But the possibilities with this new instrument could be great... but not for ever

  • To all the critics out there this is called evolution, there is scope in music for all manner of instruments,if it were´nt for evolution you´d still be attacking wild animals with sticks and wiping your arses with leaves.

  • reminds me of moby extreme ways

  • @bodioto I'm 99% sure this is a rendition of it, isn't it?

  • itss cool (:

  • what is music becoming?! D':

  • This is good but screw it. I want the future to have "real" instruments.

  • The future of electronic music totally, but I'm defiantly a purist of instruments, whereas they need there own timbre to be real. But this is seems like it actually is something. A human involvment with electronics.

  • hey where you playng at the bar on tatooine?

  • The future of music - God I hope not!!

  • @Mrphilharmonic I can't see anything particularly wrong with the instrument? Care to elaborate? I mean it's obviously not going to be the 'future' of music but at the same time this is a fairly phenomenal instrument.

  • bourne theme, nice!

  • man if all the dead musicians from all past years were around to witness this, very cool. I still like the "sound" of the wood Insturments though.

  • BRAVO!

  • Moby!

  • could you load it up with an better sound ? that would be nice

  • The future of music, what a bad taste joke...

Controlador legal, como instrumento musical já não sei...Pra determinada linguagem é um aparelho bem interessante

  • This reminds me of keytars, EWIs and a handful of other electronic instruments. Too bad those things are out average Joe's price range.

  • less keys but more movement, search youtube for karlax

  • less keys but more movement, search for karlax

  • Tatooine bar. AWESOME

  • DO THE MOS EISLEY CANTINA THEME NOW!

    the second one preferably.

  • EXTREME WAYS ARE BACK AGAIN

  • these are cool instruments i want one myself but fuck there expensive

  • the future of rich kid music..

  • lol jason bourne theme:D

  • It's a great Instrument ... !!

  • i heard these things are like 4500$ (sadface) i hope these drop price which i think will happen

  • @turdstar ACtually, they are about a little over 6k.

  • @bnyfrmhel 6k EUROS, that hurts.

  • can't believe how much money and time went into this.

Aren't they playing a cover of the demo 2 on the roland xp-30 ??

    Synth nerds, eh!

  • Bravo!

  • Now computer nerds can be rock stars. LOL.

    Love it though.

  • where can i buy one?

  • Everything is generically made in this video, since it's made up only of reprocessed sounds. It's merely pressing buttons and activating microphones, with triggered sound after another. There's creativity, but I want to hear that on an instrument that produces pure sound, or at least that achieved that sound through a physical vibration.

  • @SoldatSolutrea I agree completely with this. You can never reproduce the amount of emotional feel and training you get from an acoustic instrument on one of these " sound machines "

  • @Rg1527 The Eigenharp keys are ultra-sensitive in 3D so it responds like a cello or a guitar for pitch bend and can change tone colour or effects in the third axis. The goal of the Eigenharp is to bring the same level of expression and performance to the infinite palette of electronic sounds as we enjoy with acoustic instruments. Because note pitch and colour are linked to each key, every time you interpret a phrase it is different - even to the extent that a learner will be out of tune.

  • They're playing Moby - Extreme Ways

    Used in the Bourne trilogy

  • It's the music of jason bourne made by Moby, it's Extrem Ways !

    Very very great video !

  • I didn't know Michael Cera played the Eigenharp!

Haha seriously though, this is fucking awesome.

  • Looks like it imitates two-handed tap players of the Chapman Stick only with a button interface, added breath-control spout, two-axis buttons, drum buttons, 2 tactile strips and a rhythm sequencer. Truly a multi-dimensional 21st-century instrument. You sure a HUMAN invented this? [Whistles the X-Files theme...]

  • Far more fun than the stale guitar+guitar+bass!

  • what amp you guys play through?

  • I only think of the Bourne series :/

  • i so freaking need to get one of these.

  • you realize they have about $10,000.00 worth of equipment in that room?

  • @NetteFraulein oops i meant to say $20k not $10k

  • @NetteFraulein Ahh right, let say 30k, around that.

  • @NetteFraulein hmm.... maybe more 8400 x3 + the other gear like amp, lightning and laptops.

  • wow, this reminds me of Star Wars. The band playing in the bar, shit.

  • @Boomslang93 this IS the band in Star Wars

  • @Boomslang93 lol agreed the eigenharp is the first step towards a star wars generation

  • @Boomslang93 lol agreed the eigenharp is the first step towards a star wars generation

  • Hooo yeah o_O

  • @Boomslang93 Max Reebo's band!

  • I watched the tutorials of this instrument and despite it is an amazing instrument, its too complicated!! it definitely needs a LCD screen. an amazing choice to impress the others... but to impress yourself? mmmm

  • This needs to be funded and distributed heavily to continue and speed up musical progress.

  • The first "Band" who only plays Eigenharps o.O

  • It's hard to understand who does what: how they switch sounds, how they start/stop samples...

  • yeah but can you hit someone over the head with one?

  • @dubbedcrazy it costs 4000 pounds, so I would advise against it. Also it would splinter into plastic and circuitboards, instead of those oh-so-satisfying wood fragments.

  • @Dorminay42 *_*

  • how is the name of the song ?

  • @deroberchecker1 i believe its the theme song to the Bourne series, extreme ways by moby

  • @deroberchecker1 It's doing good, how are you?

  • i could see muse using these alot

  • I just had a flash back to the future. The band in Return of the Jedi! awesome!

  • @Rusldalovemusl ahahah i had that same thought!

  • @Rusldalovemusl Return of the Jedi happened a long time ago, it isn't the future :P

  • @Rusldalovemusl Everyone knows that happened a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away...

  • @Rusldalovemusl It was the Original Star Wars. You dolt. -_-

  • Please send one of these to Tom Jenkinson (Squarepusher)!!

  • This makes me want an Eigenharp now. >.>

  • i have a feeling that ever band will have a person that plays one of these soon.

  • @MrEvga i doubt it.... there fucking gay,,,

  • @Stigolas open up to new things, they also take a lot of skill to use...and by the way, your fucking gay.

  • I prefer Chopin hehehe

  • You don't have to wait that much longer, they have a version called Eigenharp Pico that costs just around £400.

  • @vstman Yeah. You know, the Eigenharp you buy if you're a FAGGOT.

  • @Dorminay42 LOL so you call people that praise originality to be faggots? Your reply my friend shows way too well how narrowminded you are. There is nothing wrong with people that thinks outside the box, walk across the line to get a bigger achievement. Jesus came to show all the road to follow. All stood still and stared at the finger.

  • @vstman lol he thinks they're "gay" because he will NEVER be able to afford one

  • WAIT! Are these the original guys that did the track for Canon's Reverie DSLR promotional clip?

  • I would buy one...if it didn't cost $6000. I'll just wait when it goes down.

  • yes.

  • From about 2 mins in, it sounds like a muse song....quite a lot like one.

  • @Dekudan its actually extreme ways by moby

  • @Dekudan actualy I think it's Moby - Extreme Ways (the song at the end of "The Bourne Ultimatum")... but what do I know :-)

  • i want to get one but i don't know how they work are they difficult to play? is there going to be lessons on the website.

  • I think the future of music is in musical ideas, not gadgets.

  • @canturgan I fail to see how this doesn't count as a musical idea

  • someone say starwars blue elephant?

  • Does it have a spit valve? Where does the condensed breath water accumulate?? Horn players will know what I'm talking about.

  • @guitgeo No it doesn't, you breathe in to make the sound, not blow. I do understand your question though, bass trombonist here.

  • @spike46290 Your music video is a pisser! Thanx for the reply...

  • BTW - it will only work on a MAC. It's not Windows compatible and you still need to hook it up to your stereo or guitar amp to get any kind of decent sound. The drums sound cheesy. $5600 is way too expensive for this toy. I wouldn't call it portable either. You need a computer at all times to hear anything.

  • I want me one of those

  • It's a very cool instrument, but it will never beat the raw acoustics of an acoustic instrument.

  • is this is song mobey extreme ways?

  • @Ericman2043 Isn't this the theme from The Bourne series?

  • this instrument must be expensive!

  • hey good job, had a hard time finding a good eigenharp video eh looks like not many people can actually play yet! interesting

  • i think its cool and if you buy it and you are out of money you make some by playing it for people and get payed for it if you know how to use it

  • Its supposed to be a more improv version of a Moby song

    Extreme ways

  • BEST SONG EVER! and Best Movies Ever!!!

  • It has to work like frets and scales.Scales are in all forms of music and since this kind of has a fretboard type thing.

  • This would have been better if the sound had been recorded direct to the camcorder rather than the boxy / tinny room sound...

  • @Interz09

Not sure if you've seen it, but they do have a better version here on YouTube.

  • Are you too stupid to even realize how it works? Just go get a life you troll, its fucking sad that you have nothing better to do with your life and have to spend the whole time on youtube posting annoying ass comments cause your life sucks and you have nothing better to do. I am seriously sick of all these idiots on youtube being fucking retards. They just keep about their idiot opinion WHICH NOBODY CARES ABOUT

  • @OMGClayAikken Big talk coming from someone with Clay Aikken in their username.

  • It's an inside joke from "2 months 2 million" :/

  • @OMGClayAikken Maybe you dont realize it. But your post is proof of you caring.

  • @Rickysaur Love how you defend trollers. Especially love that you reply to a 2 month old comment.

  • @Rebe1Arts Well, they're actually playing the instrument, it's not playing itself. Yes, a piano makes a sound when you press a button too, it just makes it in a different way. STUPID. :)

  • I wann know how you know what notes you're playing.

  • From what I understand, you set it up manually to be whatever you want. That or i'm sure they've devised some super-intuitive method of finding the next note...

When math meets music, there's always a way...

  • I thought it worked like a fretboard, but I could be easily mistaken.

  • £4000*

  • I seriously want one of those... I don't think i can afford the $4000 price tag on it though... *breaks down*

  • @lopeax15 No worries, there's three different models. The Pico is in the $500-$600 range, the Tau is $2600 and the Alpha is $5,600.

  • Unreal! MAd excited to see where this instrument goes.

  • it's soo awesome.i'm definitely saving money for one

  • pure awesomness!

  • Comment removed

  • Thanks for the correction

  • This is the future of music... the Eigenharp, i think is German or Swiss made instrument? i don't know, correct if I'm wrong, but its every instrument put into one....

  • @coyoteskin technically it's not every instrument in one, It just has the ability to have other instrumental sounds downloaded into it. almost like a synthesizer

  • As BillMassey94 said, it's made in England, but the name is German. "Eigen" translates to "own".
