Interesting concepts and projection. By 2014? I dunno, that would be an enormous amount of construction in a very short period of time (a little over 2 years). The face of BKK will continue changing to be sure, but I'm also thinking about how long it took for the airport from concept to opening day. BKK was different 20 years ago to how it looks now. It'll be interesting to see how it looks 20 years from now.

@NightBazaar the thai airport was plan to build long ago, thai goverment prepaer the land for 35 years untill they will start to build, but when it start....it's take only 5 years to be done (by Taksin PM.)

now thailand have new PM. name Yingluck(Taksin sister) so every project that you see it's now 40% done and it gonna be complete soon :)

@Troy1987troy As I said, Bangkok has changed much in the last 20 years. It will change more in the next 20 years. BKK is always under construction. What the video shows are concept ideas by 2014. Even if some of these buildings are under construction now, and 40% done, 2014 is only 2 years from now. I think many buildings in this video have not yet begun construction. Do you think can finish 60% more of this concept plan in 2 years? I don't know.

@NightBazaar lol, dude come and see...these are only some SMALL PROJECTS that start from last year and goverment expect to complete these on 2014 or before that and right now it's all almost done, and yeah the MEGA PROJECTS like Bangkok beach and High speed train it would take more time, but this is just some park,some shopping mall, some aprtment, and some condominiums

@Troy1987troy I've spent loads of time over the last 20 years in Thailand. My wife and I have a house in Saraburi. The changes in BKK have been such that it's hard to recognize what certain areas use to looked like. I'm not doubting ongoing. I've seen plenty of proposals for other projects in other areas of BKK as well. There are loads of them. The impression I got was the vid was a fairly new proposal, Perhaps it's not. Agreed about the new government.

but Hello....now 2012, we have wonderful bangkok city nice and clean + hight technology with new airport including subway + skytrain also we have new communications and so many new projects that building by the new goverment

now a day when go to down town and see the instructions it's makes me pround and happy that i was born in bangkok. ^__^

@Troy1987troy Didn't I say there had been changes over the years? It's impressive. Pride is fine and there's nothing wrong with that. But it has little to do with whether or not the project in the vid can be completed within the next 2 years or whether it's done by foreign or domestic contractors. It helps to keep in mind that although there's the IDEAL, there's also the REAL. Sometimes projected timetables don't always pan out on schedule for any number of reasons.
