  • Well I'm A Moron,

I Got The Strumming Pattern Wrong

  • how do u isolate the guitar parts?

  • cool did you make a in the end one?

  • I'm gonna make a video of this soon

  • lol you can see the camera fade in and out, and the cymbal is moving too

  • @hilbilly4 That's just the sun glare reflecting off the cymbal messing with the auto-focus on the camera, it's not actually moving.

  • Dude you are awesome. Great cover. Keep it up!!!

  • i like it!

  • What a Art is Your Ibanez ?

  • Yeah Ibanez!!!

  • Dude, your wicked! keep it up!!

  • not bad ;)

  • hey man youre really a master :D

  • oouuu yeah!!

  • what software do u use to isolate instruments

  • nice one man!i can learn it from u next time

  • you are great! i learn how to play my favorite songs from u :)

  • Do mike and brad use wireless guitars live? i dont see them connected to anything but i know that they are really playing because i hear sounds that were'nt on the album like sliding hands on the strings on the guitar.

  • Yes, they use wireless systems like most other big bands do.

  • @astatslpvids is that what the Audio Technica ATW-701 wireless is? and also how do you get that tone at 1:27 - 1:32 ?

  • @LPHJHGuitar That's the wireless system I have, the stuff they use is all custom-built, although they do happen to use Audio Technica as well. I keep my Blood Drive turned on for the entire duration of this song and just add my amp's distortion to it for the heavy parts, what you're hearing there is my amp's clean channel with the Blood Drive distorting it a bit. It's the same thing I use in the intro.

  • @astatslpvids I thought they use pedals

  • @guitaristonroids2 Of Course They Play...

And Of Course Thay Play Wireless Guitars And Alot Other Bands

  • Nice vid! You play well! But where`s the passion?

  • dude jus a question- how do you understand the guitar parts. as in new divide, i used to play it a bit wrong, but after seeing ur vid i gt it rite. do u use a particular software or rely on jus plain hearing?

  • It's a combination of 3 things - listening to the song and figuring it out as best as I can that way, using software to isolate the guitar parts and hear them better, and watching live videos to see how the band plays it.

  • k fine thnx mate. long hail LP

  • what effect is this pedal?

  • no matter how many times i watch this video, i still cant get the struming pattern! any suggestions!?!?!?

  • This may or may not help because it varies from person to person, but what helps me with a lot of strumming patterns is to keep a constant 16th-note alternate strumming motion going the whole time and just take out the notes that aren't there. You still move your hand up and down constantly, you just don't hit the strings when you don't need to.

  • THNX! late reply but ive been trying it out...still sounds like crap but i do hear a difference!

  • oh boy.. my favourite song!!

    He change fast man!

  • jou use a ibanez grg 170 dx electric gitar

    good work

  • No, I don't. I wouldn't touch a crappy GRG model with a 20-foot pole.

  • How about a GRX? Those gutiars are pretty good.

  • Bleh. No. GRX's are even worse than GRG's. Any Ibanez model that starts with a G is pretty much a piece of crap, along with any of the Jumpstart or Mikro series guitars.

  • Well your guitar does look liek a grg, what model is it?

  • It's an RG3EX1...it doesn't "look like a GRG," it's the other way around, a GRG looks like an RG. GRGs and GRXs are cheap entry-level versions of RGs.

  • What do you think of the Rg for 200 bucks

  • Thank's man ! One last thing :

What exactly will be the 4th album about ?

Nu metal ? Something combined from Minutes To Midnight and Hybrid Theory ?

Do you miss old Linkin Park ?

  • The new album is supposed to be a concept album, meaning there's some kind of common theme that ties all the songs together...who knows. It won't be nu metal, that's for sure.

No, I actually don't miss old Linkin Park. If their third album had sounded like Hybrid Theory and Meteora, I probably would've stopped listening to them.

  • That's what I'm saying man !

    Thank's alot !

  • Hey astatslpvids ,

Is it real that when Meteora was out , Linkin Park had to choose between Breaking The Habit and Lying From You in which is going to have a music video ?

Lying From You is a single with no video .

Why they did not make a video of this ?

By the way if No More Sorrow had music video it would be cool .

  • Lying From You was a radio-only single (they also played the Live in Texas video of it on TV a lot). I don't think they ever had to "choose" which one to make a video for, but the Breaking the Habit video took so long to finish that I think that's why they released LFY as a radio single in the meantime.

  • A little question, i guess u might know the answer,

why the 'LIVE AM ROCK RING 2004' concert's guitar sound was more strong or poweful, the sound of the guitar seems to be better recorded, but this is the only concert i can heard such a good quality of guitar sound, is it they used a better equipment?, but why this situation didnt appeared in other concerts ?.. im just wondering why.. :)

sorry for the poor english, hope u can answer me, thanks..... Kempes

  • Mostly just a result of how well-done the recording is. Rockpalast in Germany has been recording Rock Am Ring shows for many, many years, and they have some really good people working for them who just know how to make stuff sound good. If you look up other bands' performances at Rock Am Ring, the same is generally true, that they sound better than a lot of their other peformances.

  • Hey Astat, have you heard of a Hybrid Theory demo could "She Couldn't"?

    link here: watch?v=tEDtrdKoe28&feature=related

  • I was one of the people who helped LPLive release it in the first place, lol.

  • lol, sorry man, didn't know.

  • Comment removed

  • fukin ranga yd u disable new divide i waz gona comment on how gud it waz

  • Take a look at the comment you just posted, and how illiterate and obnoxious it is. I think you just answered your own question.

  • what guitar company is better ibenez, dean,or laguana?

  • Ibanez > Dean, IMO, although that's certainly debatable. Laguna is far below the other 2 quality-wise, that's just Guitar Center's in-house guitar brand (much like Raven is their in-house amp brand).

  • FelipeCarvalho1 said "man, you're fucking good! long time I watch your videos!"

  • Cara, vc toca muito! ha tempos venho acompanhando seus vídeos!

  • dude dont listen to the moaning twats on here you rock keep rocking dude :)

  • in all his videos have the same room... Famous room xD

  • haha pussy you couldnt even do the "4-swell in" in the outro booooooooo

  • I guess Brad Delson's a pussy then too, because that part is sampled live. You try doing a volume swell that quick, it's almost impossible.

  • i know how you got that sound in the begining you either were had the pedal to make sound faint or you turned your amp dirty then clean

  • i love you and LINKIN PARK

  • from all Hybrid Theory songs, which one's your fave to play?

  • astat i like the way u play it really good how long have you been playing for

  • good job ;) LP for evaaaaa!!

  • 1:27 - 1:33 Joe (I think) cleans off the basses, but there is the distortion. Sorry for my english.

  • It's guitar with lo-fi, just like the intro...?

  • yes, you turn off the pedal of the distortion, but i think that the distortion remain. in the intro and 1:27 - 1:33 joe cleans off the basses, but the distortion stay! (I think)

  • I never said that you turn off the distortion, you don't. I don't have a lo-fi pedal, so I leave my Blood Drive on and switch to the clean channel on my amp for the lo-fi parts...I've been over this a million times before.

And Joe doesn't do anything at that part. It's exactly the same as the intro but with vocals over it, the guitar part is even copy-pasted from the intro.

  • Sorry.

    P.S.: great cover!

  • hey dude, just out of curiosity....when did you start playing guitar?

  • Well, my profile says I got my first guitar for Christmas in 2001, but there's a bit more to it than that. I had been fooling around a bit on one of my dad's old guitars that he had brought out of the basement for quite a while prior to that, I honestly don't know exactly when I started. It could've been as early as late '99 or something like that.

  • You said you tabbed New Divide right? Are you gonna wait for your video to upload it on your 4shared account or is it already up there?

  • I'm going to wait until sometime tomorrow. I've been listening to the song all day, so I'm going to give it a day and see if my ears pick up on something tomorrow that I missed at first. It happens a lot. But the tab will be up before the video, because I have to have a link to put in the description, lol.

  • Haha yeah I figured. Thanks. The song kicks ass by the way. Its grows on me more and more after each listen

  • nice man 5 stars all the way

  • can you post all your 4shared links? that would be helpful

  • Do you think you'll be doing New Divide?

  • I've already learned New Divide and tabbed it. I'll probably have a video up tomorrow.

  • i waited forever for New Divide... and now I have to wait for you to play... darn.... well it'll be worth it. you're awesome!

  • damn u r fast!, i wonder is it in c# too?

  • Yep, it's in C#. Not required for the guitar parts but the bass hits a low C# in quite a few places. It'll be interesting when/if they play it live because it's played on a Strat, but all of LP's other "Strat songs" from Minutes to Midnight are in Drop D, while New Divide is tuned down half a step.

  • well maybe brad will play it in drop D and that wouldn't be the first time they play a song with different tunings for guitar and bass, for example breaking the habit is in drop Db on guitar and in standard 5 string tuning on bass, right?

  • Right, same goes for In the End and It's Goin' Down, Somewhere I Belong is Eb on guitar but Bb on 5-string bass live, Don't Stay is in Drop B but the bass is standard 5-string, etc...it would be kind of weird to have a half-step difference between the guitar and bass though.

  • i agree, so we could expect it to be played on a PRS in drop Db, we'll maybe see this summer (i'm going to see them in zurich)

  • It was recorded on a Strat though, and Brad's made it a point to use Strats live for all the MTM songs that he recorded with a Strat. I wouldn't be surprised if he adds a second Strat to his rig just for that song, he has other guitars that are only used on one song (Drop D PRS for Wake/Given Up, Drop B Ibanez for Don't Stay, PRS with a Fernandes Sustainer for No More Sorrow).

  • great job as always, Astat

Can we hope to see a video or two for New Divide anytime soon?

  • yeah. you rock.

  • awesome!

  • why did you upload this again??????

  • Somebody didn't read the description.

  • oh sorry i forgot to

  • Read the Description.

  • lol good job first
