It takes a lot of people to do a lot of the shit theey put together, so between Donna and all her writers and producers and lyricists and all that, they revolutionized the sophistication of Disco!!!
Donna Summer is speaking German very well! I didn't know that! WTF?? Great video and awesome artists we have here... Long live Giorgio and Donna Summer.
What a great chance to see a "diva" in a real studio session. I've had the chance to compse music & be in a mix down session & it was great to see the for real Donna.
Can't believe some of the lame-ass comments here (yeah, I'm talking to you gothic!) Like, go find something else better to do with your time that doesn't involve having your fingers permanently glued your to phone (yeah, the one that's clearly "smarter" than you).
And to the defense of Ms. Summer, what may people don't know is that she is "the disco pioneer" before any of us Americans even knew of disco. And by the way she co-wrote all of her best hits, and not just sang them!
As I kid I always loved Donna Summer I thought highly of her, her beauty her music her style. When I heard about the remark she about the Gays that God sent AIDS as a lesson to us that being GAY was wrong. It was in a taped interview and even though Donna Summer stated it wasn't correct it was on tape so she couldn't take what she said back. That hurt especially when her fan base was GAY It was a slap in the face.
@9693297602 and just where is this taped interview ? Guess what, it doesn't exist, she never said that. Frankly your bringing up this almost 30 year old rumor is the real slap in the face !
@9693297602 Where did you hear bullshit like thls? There are no tapes of her saying that. It was a lie from some tired ass queen who wanted to start rumors. Donna Summer has many gay friends and had done many fund raisers for AIDS. I can't believe you would say such lies. I hope one day you know what it is to accuse someone of false statements like this. You're a terrible person.
"Don't show me smoking" Too late, we caught you. lol What a perfectionist she is. like all good singers. She still has that Europeon quality to her perfoming, recording & writing. She is such a legend & an icon.
how cool to hear her speak German..she easily flows from German to English..The Casablanca years was a huge part of my childhood . Almost all the music I loved and purchased was on the Casablanca label..those were the best years of music...very enjoyable..I miss buying vinyl records..always had great artwork...sometimes you would get a cool foldout poster..nice pics on the innersleeve..the scent of the vinyl when you took the plastic wrapper off...
This is absolutely priceless!!! The idea that we get to see a short behind the scenes look at the producing of the monumental "Live and More" LP. To think that this similar genius took place upon the production of Donna's rocketblasting "Bad Girls" LP a year later!
For those people that thought Donna was just a disco diva, need to look further at the song credits for her songs, for which over half of them she co-wrote.
WOW!!! THIS REALLY INSPIRES ME! There must be some hope for my piano playing! I note the brilliance that is her attention immersed in the sounds! I LOVE THIS! Thanks for sharing.
It's really interesting that she talks about the first take always being the best, because of the "newness" of it, "documentation of the moment," "the spontaneity of being there," "some things...will never be perfect..." Letting go of the expectation of perfection does seem to allow more freedom of expression...

What? Wow, her accent...she speaks another language? I didn't know that. But which language is it?

@rexx1234567 She speaks German. She said recently she misses speaking it because she has no one to speak it with anymore.

Doesn't she look like Kelly Rowland? Rowland could be a new Donna, but her musical output can't be even compared with Donna's.

Giorgio Moroders "I feel love" synthesizer arrangement was way ahead of its time. If you listen to the song now days, It can still give you chills.

you can tell she is not a married woman yet just by the loose way she acts here.
it was nice to have something other than a run of the mil motown woman back then to make dance music. her european experience made her unique.

I guess that newness could also be described as an emotional connection, or involvement in the song...

Donna is such a great artist. The industry gave her that "Disco" label in order to sell
records. Back then female artists had very little control. The Bad Girls album was phenomenal from a creative standpoint
