no they didn't. they were having tryouts and miley told mandy about them. so mandy tried out.

no, Miley just told Mandy about it. mandy still had to audition herself. and she had to go through all the trials just like the other girls.

No, the group was being formed regardless. Miley found out about it and recommended Mandy for it. So, Mandy got the job becasue of Miley, but not the others.
