    >arguing about which sport is better

    you guys are sad.

  • YOU WANNA KNOW WHY RUGBY IS MORE TOUGH... ITS THE ONLY GAME IN THE WORLD THAT HAS A BLOOD BIN AND INJURIES DON'T MATTER. A GAME CONTINUES IF SOMEONE IS INJURED. MEDICAL STAFF RUN IN CARRY OUT. BAM.. RUGBY

  • remember. the defense moves up quickly. a decision has to be made split second otherwise defense catches up with him.most professional rugby players are surgeons, doctors, etc. people who can think quickly.

  • in rugby you dont have to stop play. decisions are split second. one wrong decision may lead to a try on the other end. you dont just pass the ball left and right. it is the job of the fly half to look at the opposition defence organize his troops and call a play or code as we ruggers call it which is capable of breaking the defence pattern set up by the opposition. its all split second.

  • I had to leave rugby for a whole year after a horrible injury. my leg twisted in the wrong direction. but I'm back playing for my uni. rugby is more tough. really u have to play to know.... try competing in the ruck for possession..u get punched, fricken stomped on with iron studs. But the best thing bout rugby is the brotherhood. my cuzz played football nd he told me wenever a play fails or an error is commited there would be cursing on and off the field. Thank god for rugby.

  • I've played both sports and rugby is considerbly harder. As a lineman in the NFL you don't have to be in shape (fitness wise) and the bigger the better. In rugby it is rare to see anyone over 260lbs. It is interesting to note that a sport where you have to be healthy for fitness should be considered a better sport then one where you are encouraged to be unbelievably huge.

  • We see hits like that multiple times in every game. Thats nothing. And you stupid brits don't realize the strategy and mental skill it takes to play football. The reason why we stop the play is because we need to call the next play and strategize. Don't bag on football until you really understand what its about. It is much more tough and intense than rugby.

  • @11GUITARocker11 NOPE

First off, please call the game american football, football is known to the rest of the world as what you would call soccer. Football is the correct term for soccer because you use your feet more than your hands. Ball because it is actually a ball not an egg

Any rugby player could beat any af player in running, the rugby players are constantly running while in af they have to change the team every 5 min

AF players need pads, rugby players dont wear anything

    - An American

  • @11GUITARocker11

If the rest of the world though that AF is such a great sport they would play it.

But the US is still the only country that has a real major AF league

Without the Brits we wouldnt have television and we wouldnt know about gravity

The hits that you see "multiple times in every game" are no where as hard as those hits without the pads in rugby

In AF there are lots of players that need to be overweight, but all the ruggers have to be in great condition

    Rugby is better.. period

  • Us having pads enables us to be able to hit harder, faster, and more powerful simply because we dont have to worry as much about our body taking the beating. If you have played american football before you would understand that the hits we make and the blocks we have to take on would literally kill us without pads. In the past 3 weeks of my highschool football season 4 kids have had major concussions. They got these with the helmets on I can't imagine what would happen without the helmets.

  • american football is no where near as good as rugby. there is no flow to football at all where as rugby you can have 5 minutes of continuous play befor the whistle gets blown. rugby is just such a better game. period

  • @stelthysloth

Just because they run a series of set plays doesn't mean there is no flow. The build up is mostly based on the down and distance.

  • whats the song called?

  • I dont get why people say football is more badass. I am from america and have always loved football but there is no denying this is bad ass. There is no pads and no stopping the clock. In foot ball a pussy bitch gets tackled and lays there for 5 minutes and then gets up but in this u have to get up with out help

  • @xBABYxKICKERx

well you just don't anything about sports is all.

  • @FurlogTheGiant im sure i dont. Nope I dont no anything about sports. I am just cluless. Ha ha your a dumbass dont take it so personally. These people tackle without pads.

  • @xBABYxKICKERx

you mean they hug each other, not what I call a tackle.

  • @FurlogTheGiant what do you call 0:48? I like both but stop being a whiny bitch fanboy. The fact that they dont use pads and it is a continuous game makes it that much harder. Grow up and stop saying 1 thing is better than another

  • @xBABYxKICKERx

    >>>"Grow up and stop saying 1 thing is better than another"<<<

I thought that's what you were doing?

Which is why I said you don't know anything about sports…

because anyone who does(or has two eyes) knows that the vertical nature, the tactical use of obstruction and freedom of tackle has made AF more dangerous. Insurance cost support that. Sports sciende does as well.

  • @FurlogTheGiant Notice how I said I liked both and both were bad ass I just said this looked like harder hitting due to no pads. You however just came in saying i knew nothing of sports (which I do) and about how they dont even get hurt. Grow up, you have already lost this

  • @FurlogTheGiant

just like every other american, you aren't grown up enough to realize that rugby is clearly a more difficult and more demanding sport. Think about it, if a 180 lb man tackled you and you had pads, it wouldnt hurt that much, but if the same thing happened and you werent wearing any pads, it would hurt more, you cant debate that.

American Football is a pussy sport, rugby is better...period.

    - A right-minded american

  • @DJSolidify But you have to consider the fact that the american football player is able to hit much harder because of the fact that he has the pads on. I can GUARANTEE you that a rugby player does not hit someone by throwing every ounce of their power at the guy trying to knock him off their feet. Them not having pads forces them to have to focus on wrapping up and simply bringing to the ground. Sure there are the few times when there is a huge hit, but not as common as american football.

  • @11GUITARocker11 There are always large hits in rugby, even the backs are pure muscle, and i guarantee that if you measure the force of a tackle from a rugby player compared to the force of a tackle from a offensive line man (hella fat dudes) that: rugby back > hella fat dude

  • @DJSolidify You obviously know nothing about football considering the fact that offensive linemen dont tackle. They are trained to use their size to block, not tackle. Watch this video and it will basically explain everything I previously posted. watch?v=W7tGY-VDx3o 35 mph car into a wall? You would be killed without pads.

  • @11GUITARocker11 Its comparing a professional af player to an amateur rugby player. If we get someone like chabal or ma'a nonu compared to whomever they were testing it with, there would be a massive difference. Also, there is one person to do each position/job on an af team, ruggers have to do everything. Without the pads he would probably wimp out and/or not tackle as hard.

  • @DJSolidify Yes it is true that the football player would not be able to hit as hard without pads. That is what I have been trying to say. With pads, football players are able to hit much harder than rugby players without pads. So you can't say that AF isn't tough because you still get hit incredibly hard even with pads on. As I previously commented, on my high school football team there has been 4 major concussions in the past 4 weeks. Just imagine if they didn't have helmets on.

  • @11GUITARocker11 Im saying that the pads are moreover used so that the person being tackled doesn't feel it as much. If they didn't have pads they would probably pussy out and not hit as hard. Ruggers don't have pads but still deliver a high amount of force, its part of the game. There's a reason why we call it a hospital pass if you get tackled hard. It happens so much more because ruggers arent pussys. watch?v=H8v-qZFVYnc shows how big the hits are.

    Rugby wins

  • @DJSolidify No. The pads are to prevent serious injury or death, not soften the blow. And again you restated what I said before. The pads allow the player to hit harder. Of course without pads they would not hit as hard. Because of this football DOES HIT HARDER than rugby players. I am not saying that football is any more tougher than rugby, just that the impact is harder. And this video watch?v=_xy6ankfurU most of the hits are harder than your video. Just look at the guy after the hit at 1:40.

  • @11GUITARocker11 Again, the pads are to prevent injury, WHICH softens the blow. The player can hit harder BECAUSE of the pads. (again please do not refer to ur "handegg" as football) The AF players THEMSELVES WITHOUT the pads DO NOT hit harder than a rugby back. The impact itself may be larger, but the tacklee DOES NOT feel the pain as much. Watch watch?v=6lSsUKe8ihI at 1:17, 1:38, and 3:00, that NEVER happens in an AF game. There is a reason why its called a hospital pass.

  • @DJSolidify In rugby you are taught to tackle below the waist, with your head behind the player, wrapping up the ball carriers legs and allowing him to fall forward. In American football if you tackled that way you'd be conceding 2 yards of territory on every down - which you simply can't afford to do do given that your opponent has 4 plays to move the ball only 10 yards.

  • @DJSolidify The padding is necesary in the NFL, because the fundamentals (and explosiveness) of the game demand it. There is a reason why there are so many injuries and concussions in the NFL, and why player safety has become a massive issue recently despite the padding - and your a fool if you think it's because the players are soft/wimps etc.

  • @11GUITARocker11 Im saying NFL players THEMSELVES WITHOUT THE PADDING are nowhere to as tough as ruggers. The padding helps the af players to hit harder, and yes if you were to play an af game without a helmet, you would probably get some sort of head injury. But you have to be in better shape to play rugby. But if they stopped using pads in the NFL, there would be many injuries at first, but then there would be less. The pads make it a more dangerous sport, but at the same time they don't.

  • @DJSolidify In American Football you tackle from a low base, driving your shoulder on a plane running through or just underneath the bottom of the rib cage up out of the shoulder blade - to stop the ball carriers momentum dead and drive him backwards. Try that on a rugby field without padding and see what happens. You'd be thrown off for dangerous play and the guys getting blasted in the ribs wouldn't last long either.

  • @11GUITARocker11 When they compare him to the crash they are talking about the how far the seatbelt pushes on the persons chest in the crash, not that he exerts the same force as the car hitting the wall.

  • @UHtiger Ya obviously.

  • rugby players make plenty of money. During his last season in the super 14 Umanga was making a million a game. Now, that's the biggest contract there but, it clearly shows ruggers make plenty of money. More importantly, they can play longer then NFLers (Not For Long) and therefore, make more money in the long run. And, there are far less concussions and neck injuries in rugby.

  • @notlob

    wasnt he also coach?

and I dont think he was making that much

$1,000,000 per season is likely tops (likely much less)

    Meanwhile in the NFL

No. 1 overall draft pick Sam Bradford agreed to a six-year, $78 million contract with the St. Louis Rams last year, with $50 million in guaranteed money.

The money is no where close

  • name of song ???? please

  • @Zurrixia, sorry about my last reply, i'm using my cellphone to access the comments so my reply got cut short. If you wont do the research then give me a couple days and I'll post the references. Calling me names only makes you the retard, a-hole.

  • @jlocslil3

    Don't waste your time...

Z has been on this topic for years and is Mr. Research.

  • so i'm to take it you won

  • @Zurrixia, you obviously dont get it. Ruggers dont play football beacuse the love playing rugby. not everyone is out to make money when they play sports. and if you'd like to check the stats on physical prowress between NFL players and rugby players you're gonna find the rugby players are stronger, faster, bigger and tougher. Check your stats, no really do the research and let's see it posted on the board once and for all.

  • @MrJlocslil3

    BULLSHIT

    you're a retard

  • @Zurrixia

You're an ass hole redneck uneducated worthless retard. A penny is worth more than you.

  • Actually if you must know there is a study running around somewhere which states American Football players hit only one or two more pounds harder than rugby players. (Mythbusters might have done a special also on it.) AND AT LEAST RUGGERS KNOW HOW TO TACKLE UNLIKE THE NFL!

  • @MrJlocslil3

You're showing your ignorance of both sports with your tackling comment. Oh and if Ruggers are so good at tackling, wouldn't they go to the NFL and make 10 times the money? Oh that's right, they wouldn't go because of their love of rugby. LOL No, it's because they are not offered. Why? Because they are not…Big enough, fast enough, strong enough, tough enough. BTW, it wasn't 1 or 2 lbs harder, it was 2-3 times harder. Big Difference.

  • Song name? pleaaaaaaaaaase

  • In this video there are but a handful of "hits" (he he) and only one looked even "medium"...let alone "BIG"

  • Comment removed

  • This is a pretty awsome video! It just shows how much more elite RUGBY is to "Poofball".

  • ive played both and rugby is more respectable/difficult/fun by far that american football.

Also: rugby players are (99%) of the time, more gentlemen like and respectful to one another than american footballers.

  • My stupid friend always says rugby is a boring sport with skinny ass guys hitting eachother. And football is a man sport. Are you kidding me, ive played both and i can tell you rugby is a much harder game. There skinny for a reason, that reason is you are running NON STOP!! you dont stop every 12 seconds and stand around. Look at the people who play football. Half of them are fat, and half of them dont even run most of the plays. ANd they dont wear big pads and call themselves tough.

  • FurlogTheGiant: if you ever notice, almost every sport in the world is a game of keep away, but rugby is not just that, it's Kill The Man With The Ball. You think football is like that...? think again, rugby players aren't little pussies saying, "block for me, I don't wanna get hurt" like the football players are, we are our own blocker. Try playing a REAL man's game and then try talking, after you're out of your comma from getting pounded that is. And by the way, I'm from the USA.

  • @edthepreachersmith wait aminute wait a minute

you say because there is blocking that's like saying "block for me, I don't want to get hurt" ???

what about the other side of the ball?

the tackler in rugby is the one delivering the hits(unless the ball carrier lays one on the tackler), but in AF, the tackler is often blind sided. The tackler has to make the play while the ball carrier team mates are trying to kill him.

    think next time

  • It cost a lot more to insure a Football player than a Rugby player, because the risk is far greater of severe injury in football than in Rugby. But that's not the point. Football has 1,000 layers of tatics, it's all set plays. Blocking, blind side hits and gang tackles are all rougher than the contact seen in Rugby. Football is an elite game. Rugby is like keep-a-way with a football.

  • @FurlogTheGiant hahaha. Rugby is just as tactical as American football. The difference is that you don't get to make up the plays you're going to run 20secs before you do it, you've got half a second to offload the ball and set the play up before you get smashed.

  • @semtex84

That must be why all your "plays" (as you call them), look the same. Kind of like basketball, or soccer, or hockey on and on and on...

we used to play a game called smear the queer.

Someone would have the football and everyone else would just gang tackle him...then we also would sometimes play a game called keep-a-way. Rugby is like combining smearing the queer with keep-a-way.

So thats about the level of your tactics.

    Do I:

    A) pitch

    B) keep

    now thats deep

  • @FurlogTheGiant Go read a rugby play book. Cut outs, dummies, chip and chase's.

If you want to try to be funny at least put some effort into it. You clearly made yourself look like an idiot.

    Cheers.

  • @semtex84

    yeah Rughy has some

about like that of basketball(picks, isolations, give and go's etc.)

its just not the same as football

  • @FurlogTheGiant If you don't like the game that's fine, but at least try to learn the game and the plays that are made. If you spent some time learning you'd more then likely come off as a little less ignorant and pig headed.

I like american football for what it is but the time frames that are in place to decide what to do with the ball are a millions times bigger ( the clock stops, unlike RU/RL) then in rugby, that fact cannot be disputed.

    Cheers. :)

  • whts the song

  • american football isnt as hard as union youve got pads and you only play really a specialised position and its stop start where rugby is run smash...dont even try to class American football in the same league and stop taking this is AMERICA paleeease thats so 80s come to nz play a mans game and leave the pads at home for your mrs...chur rugbys best team ever the mighty ALL BLACKS check out my page i have a rugby clip with better hits and etter music wahaha sorry

  • the best sport. lolololololol that's a good one man. this is AMERICA!!! we play NFL football!!! those aren't tackles. watch ray lewis man. that's a tackle.

  • hey guys what is the song in this video?

    it rocks!!

  • @progamer63: thanks, apparently its a remix by clint mansell, and yes its called requiem for a dream. Thanks very much for the help!

  • Nice video, great sport, brilliant soundtrack- anybody know the name of the soundtrack?

  • @PMMVD requiem of a dream i think idk who by tho

  • Rugby, for men, American Football, for pussies

  • these hits r just as big as any nfl hit, it just looks smaller coz they arn't wearing pads that make them look 9 foot tall and 400 kilo, rugby union is the best game because it employs the most of each aspect of contact sport, skill, strength, speed and cunning

  • rofl at 1:00

  • thats fuckin brutal

  • and rugby just has more downright brutality. Yesterday i played and we had knees to faces kidney shots kicks to the head choke slams you name it haha. it was freakin aweosome. think of it this way football has countless refs and video playback and challenge flags etc.. rugby its 30 guys and one ref and he only has two eyes

  • my view on the whole rugby v football agruement is that while science has proven the G forces and force in a football tackle is on average higher, that does not mean that they hurt more. the pads abosrb those G forces whereas my shoulder bone and torso take my tacklers force. Sure i bet i would be hurt be a strong football tackle but when you take hit after hit arfter hit in one phase in rugby it is in opionon much more taxing on the body

  • to all u Americans who think your sport is tough. i wanna see a game of american football where the players don't cover themselves in padding and then see how hard they hit each other. and if the hits are half has big as rugby hits i'd be laughing because the players would probably start crying.

  • This proves that there are no big hits in Rugby.

  • @Zurrixia Are you fucking retarded !!??!! There are plenty big hits in rugby!! The significant difference between NFL and rugby, you fuckwit, is that rugby players don't wear all that padding that those fucking homos in NFL.

    GOT IT !!!!

  • @promisquis1

Rugby and Football are the same sport duh. Rugby has no blocking, no blind hits, and restricted contact. No one in America wears gear while playing Rugby...why would you? It's just keep away with soft contact. The big difference between Football and rugby is contact.

  • @Zurrixia Of course they're the same!! Everyone knows that. American Football was created from Rugby because those fucking american pussies couldn't handle the rules of Rugby. They altered the rules to the game so much that eventually American Football was created!! But we cannot overlook the fact that there is one significan difference. The fucking padding that NFL players. I mean, who's the fucking pussy little faggot that told american footballers to wear all that shit HA !!??!!

  • @promisquis1 You must be the dumbest person on Earth. AF is a far cry from Rugby. Your knowledge of sports is obviously very low. You have no clue how AF came to be. Silly boy, AF has an insurance rating of 4 while Rugby only 2. Face it, Rugby is to Football as Figure Skating is to Hockey.

  • @Zurrixia Who the fuck you calling boy you little bitch!!!???!!! I did some research and from all the info that I collated I have significant grounds to believe that that is exactly how American Football was created!!!! Are you American? Cos that would be typically why you are disputing this fact! Oh, and one more thing. Insurance (as far as I'm concerned) has nothing to do with this you fuccking homo!!!

  • @promisquis1

    yawn

you have nothing, just a silly lil' dream of being part of something big but rugby is just bush league shit

  • @Zurrixia I can't help but notice that you are avoiding my questions. You have responded to my post but you will not answer my questions. Rugby is true mans that you will never understand you fucking little fairy!!

  • @promisquis1

Maybe thats a man sport where you are, but not here.

  • @Zurrixia The fact that they don't wear padding in Rugby makes it a far more manly sport than American Football!! Where the fuck are you from!!!????!!!

  • @promisquis1

You fool. Rugby has such controlled limited contact...holy fuck, how can you say that the games are the same but for gear??? Rugby has pussy ass rules for tackling, Rugby has almost zero blind side hits and most of all...Rugby has NO BLOCKING!!! Tackling is less than 10% of the contact in Football. More girls play rugby in the USA.

  • @Zurrixia And I agree with you on one thing. NFL is a far cry from rugby! Because of all the fucking alterations those pussified americans made to the sport because they couldn't handle it! If you read my post properly you would have seen that I all ready pointed that out. You poor little intellectualy deprived fucking degenerate!!!!!!!!!!

  • American is nothing compared to rugby.

    American football is for boys

    Rugby is for men

  • @smegma42 no u got it all wrong ...

    Soccer is for kids

    Am Football is for wussies

And Rugby Is For Men !

  • American football has bigger and harder hits but rugby is more brutal :) sorted

  • Best sport ever!

  • i have the utmost respect for rugby, it is brutal. But in no way does it compare in terms of hits. These are just "tackles", which to be honest compared to football hits are pretty tame. Football is basically a chess match with huge collisions. Basically, if you didnt have padding in football, there would be many deaths

  • Not really, padding makes it worse giving a bigger impact and they use helmets as weapons.

  • i guess that's kinda what i mean. But also, without pads many players would already be dead

  • na mate, these are big hits and theyre 'tame copared to american ball because we have rules governing the tackle so it atleast involvs some skill rather than just throwing yourself at someone

  • @joshakatubs Thats why i say they're tame. Yes, rugby players are probably better tacklers, but football players (because of the pads) can HIT.

And to be honest i love big hits haha

  • idk what kinda rugby u been watching but there are alot of massive hits in rugby.

  • massive hits, yeah. But football has bigger "hits"

  • @killwill07 Ok yeah, American Football has bigger and harder tackles, but that tackle stops the game, and you dont have to worry about the opposition team rucking over you, and you getting stamped and trampled on, taking knees to the face, and studded boots to the body. There is so much more in Rugby that makes it a brutal game. I have fond memories of times when i played and have ended up on the wrong side of a ruck and just being stamped on and kicked. metal studs leave a nice mark on the skin

  • haha im just talking about hits, not brutality. brutality goes to rugby, metal cleats on skin is not fun

  • @OldhamAthletic87KTF yah but they got armor they dont

  • @tongan97 It's called equipment, and it justs makes the hits bigger and more painful.

  • @OldhamAthletic87KTF and pads and helmet

  • @OldhamAthletic87KTF American Football has bigger and harder hits because of all the fucking armour that they wear! I'm sick and tired of pointing this out. You cannot compare rugby with American Football by comparing the tackles or the hits (that are made). No matter how you look at it Rugby is a much better sport. It is much more popualr worldwide that's we RUGBY has a world cup and "poofball"doesn't.

  • @promisquis1

oh please, the NRL is bush league compared to NCAA Football let alone the NFL. Just because the British Empire spread Rugby hardly means it's a better game. Football destroys Rugby at every turn. Rugby is an old 19th century game of keep away, Football is a modern technological struggle. Football has bigger faster stronger far more specialized players going 100%. Rugby, shit jogging around, soft hitting, roll ball with toe LOL

  • @Zurrixia Read these words very carefully you developmentally challenged little fuck face faggot!! There are more things involved in the spreading of rugby then the British Empire. You seem to have overloooked the fact that Rugby is a world wide sport because it was embraced by those whom the sport introduced to. Not all the nations the sport was introduced to embraced it but most did. And not every nation in the world that plays rugby is a British Colony!

  • @Zurrixia Therefore your statement "Just because the British Empire spread Rugby hardly means it's a better game" is irrelevent !!!! Besides you fuckn idiot! The fact that Rugby is world wide proves that it is more popular. You may not think that it is better, but it is definately more popular. Americans need to ask themselves; how can they claim Football to be their national sport when they do not have a team? If you think NFL is better, why have they not tried to spread the gamee world wide?

  • @OldhamAthletic87KTF same here dude i almost lost an eye 2 a stud when i was 11 ... im 14 now :)

  • @OldhamAthletic87KTF they sure do ;)

  • @killwill07 And it's becuase of all that armour NFL players (and everyone who plays American football) can pull off all their big hits. Think about it idiot!!

  • @promisquis1 why call me an idiot? Football players would have a high fatality rate if they hit like they do with pads. A good portion of your body is still exposed, and by no means does padding mean you dont feel hits. You feel them, they're coushioned, but they are much harder than rugby hits. They're completely different sports. get that through your thick head

  • @killwill07 Gett this through your thick head cuntface!! You just misinterpreted me. I said: And it's because of all that amrour that NFL players wear that gives thhem the ability to pull off their big hits. I never said that they don't feel it!! The padding cushions the effect of the hits. Rugby players don't wear padding like that so, therefore, they have nothing to cushion the effects of the hits made on them. Rugby players rucked, and stomped all over after taking a hit....

  • @killwill07 ....And they have no padding to cushion that effect. Which is why Rugby is a more manly sport than American "Poofball" YOU IDIOT!! You and that homo Zurixia need to realise this!!

  • @promisquis1 They're completely different sports, and my bad i definately interpreted it. Im not saying rugby aint tough, just NFL is pretty damn tough as well. Go into the trenches of a football game and tell me that isnt grueling. They arent comparable, besides physicality. Football is a huge tactical game. Look up Reggie Bush hit. That doesnt happen in rugby. Zurrixia is right. Have you played american football at atleast high school level?

  • ah i effin love rugby! its what i live for

  • maybe american football would be a decent game if it didnt stop and start every 20 seconds.

  • @DoNzIIBLiTzZ American loves to party so its perfect game because theres half a minute to talk or get beer while your waiting for the next play.

  • @DoNzIIBLiTzZ I agree, however American Football is more a cultural outing than a sport. I try to watch American football but being Australian its so difficult as it just stops and starts every 15-20 seconds. A good example of why its more cultural thing than a sport is look at the Super Bowl, more ads and a massive half time show rather than the actual game itself. Then the rugby/ football world cup its all about the game and the MANY countries that play it.

  • @ExcaLiBuR1234100

    you're overdoing this cultural angle.

you may not like he start-stop of set plays, you may not understand the down system...

but AF is sports war, it's is sophisticated game like an arms race.

AF has steadily progress throughout the decades, so as old offenses are made obsolete by new defenses, new offenses arise.

Thus Rugby looks like an old fashion 1800’s game of keep away, it seems shallow

Baseball is the culural passtime, not AF

  • @FurlogTheGiant rugby has most definitely progressed since it's humble beginnings, just like american football: better equipment, pitch modifications, larger stadiums, rule changes etc.

i love american football, i understand the rules and try and watch it, but i do get bored quite quickly. i prefer rugby to play and watch because for me it just flows better.

  • @DoNzIIBLiTzZ more like every 10

  • No wonder they don't wear pads, they hit like pussies. Those aren't tackles, they are wrestling takedowns. The kickoff in REAL football is listed as the most dangerous play in ALL of sports. People would DIE if they didnt wear pads in REAL football.

  • you sir are the shit

  • and weres your proof that any of that is true?

  • @DreamNeonBlack Bro, there are plenty more videos on youtube that can show you just how hard people get hit in rugby. Youtube the following, 'Chabal hit on Isaiah Toeava'. You'll see then what rugby hits can really do. Besides the hits may not be as big as in football because in football they have all that padding to wear.

  • niiccee

  • Average height is 6ft 1 for both sports.

  • who cares about olympics... rugby is a tough balls out sport... football is that with pads

  • america is shiiiiit!

  • America is the Greatest Country in the world! eat a dick

  • NFL players are bigger, faster, and stronger, average NFL player is 6-4 and about 245lbs and can run a 4.4 40yd NFL players are the definition of a true athlete combining size, strength, and speed. rugby only may have better endurance... only may because of the wide receivers in the NFL probably could keep up. America is the most sport dominating country in the world! don't believe me who won the Olympics this year? Rugby is for pussy Brits. bottom line FUCK ENGLAND! AMERICA RULES!

  • Im an American, and you're an idiot.

  • Your mother deep throats

  • tak, tak koleszko z ameryki jesteś przyjebany w głowe :)

  • im from America, and your an idiot. The average football player is not 6'4. And I guarantee you rugby players experience more pain than football players. And about the olympics, USA had more medals, but Japan had more gold. Football isnt even a sport, very little skill involved (Compared To Other Sports)

  • U.S.A WON! period! Your a pussy that's obviously never played football! and yes the average football play is 6'4" look at the nfl stats and statistics

  • lol you don't know my. Hard hitting is in my blood. I played sports in high school, but currently just admire the game. But I have a brother that pursed it farther that plays pro rugby and played for the USA. If I had to guess your a pip squeak 20 year old. Go play warcraft.

  • hard hitting is not in your blood...you know whats in your blood????? Blood

  • "Rugby is for brits". Top three countries in the world aren't even European so in fact its pretty international. A more logical comment would be Gridiron is for Americans. Come back when you have a world cup for that sport mate.

  • I'm not your mate you homo

  • just shut up and bend over bitch.

  • u would like that homo

  • @JoshFerguson08 How does suggesting that NFL is inferior because they don't have a world cup make me a homo? Now if I said go put pads, make up and tights on then run around with 50 other guys high fiving and arse slapping in between 3 seconds of throwing a ball that would be suggesting homo shit, oh wait thats NFL.....

  • rugby is a bunch of brits running around is shorty shorts playing grab ass with each other thats probly why you like it so much its homo like you

  • It's not actually that British even though it originated. The top 3 teams in the world are New Zealand, South Africa and Australia. England and stuff aren't even near the top 5. NFL could be a cool sport, just lose the make up, tone down the pads and play for more then 30 seconds at a time. Maybe then the rest of the world would give a shit about it.

  • your still a homo. and Bottom line is football could be the worst sport ever and it would still be better becuz its american and America fucking kicks ass

  • If you kick ass so much why do you spend far to much of your "ass kicking" time on a video about a sport that you hate?

  • to piss little homo's like you off. why dont you go deep throught another guy

  • rele????...vietnam...deffinatly kicked ass there

  • you can not spell you retard

  • american football players wear lycra leggings.... whats your point?

  • so pathetic to be honest..

  • nice they were all good tackles !

  • What a ripoff. Video length = 1:28. First hit @ 0:46. Final hit @ 1:22. Should call it "The All Blacks warming up for the Haka, plus some hits."

  • requiem for a dream, by clint mansell

  • by mozart

  • song??

  • Carmina Burana =)

  • Put on google "Rugby hit" click i'm feeling lucky and it will bring you to this page.

  • GO ON VIKERY lool

  • wheres da brothas?

  • 0:46 for the action

  • some of the clips are in slow motion...

  • I look at this and wonder why they are playing at half speed. These guys look like a bunch of 8th graders.

  • Most backs have to be able to run 100m in sub 10.5 and they weigh about 100kgs - and they're just the little guys on the field. They look smaller because of the lack of pads compared to a NFL player.

  • Mackiss88

If there were no pads in AF then they wouldn't hit harder.

And 2-3 hours is standard training for a whole day, probably even less then what other sport stars train inc. cricket

And what's the point in the helmet you Americans, the head isn't supposed to be used as a weapon like you do when you run into people.

And if you're going to talk abou Scrum caps then i'd like you to run into a brick wall and see if it hurts

  • American footballers don't use their heads as weapons. As a matter of fact it is illegal to lead with your helmet. Before the pads were introduced there was a lot more deaths in American football. Saying that I'm not slagging Rugby, I love the sport and have played both. Excellent video.

  • GoooD video (Y)

  • who was that at 1:03?
