I have lived in Kentucky all my life and been a chorale member for four years. I am leaving for college next semester. I just realized what an opportunity I missed to sing this with my school chorale. Oh well, I'll be back eventually, if for nothing else just to sing this song with my fellow Kentuckians. I have a friend who suffers from cancer. He is a Kentucky native. We served in the Air Force in Thailand in 68 & 69. I think only of him as Iisten to the music of Mr. Foste and this magnificent choir! .

I'm from Ohio. Our State song is "hang on Sloopy.' Go figure. Our other state song is "Beautiful Ohio." This choir touched my heart also. God doesn't make guys like Stephen Foster any more. Such a shame.
Foster. Great guy. Bet he never thought his song would be sung into the 21st Centruy. Beautiful presentation of a great song. An intergral part of American music.
I'm not sure what cdogslovergirl is talking about. I'm from Kentucky, also, and have sung in choirs (including the UK Chorale) since I could talk. The arrangement was fine. There is no "chorus" after the first verse. Great job!
What a huge choir you have! I think you did the arrangment beautifully. And scince you had so many guys in the mix, you got to pull off the beginning with the guys leading.
Btw, good job with having a steady camera. It's so hard to find a good recording on here. :P

Listen again. They are doing it as rewritten in '86. Chorus is right where it should be.
