They only apologized a year after the incident and only after the media and lawyers got involved.

If the people at Chase must live under rocks if they are to stupid to understand the concept of public relations and videos about it going viral on youtube. If they had half a brain cell, they'd have apologized and reimbursed him ASAP. Instead they wait for the bad media attention?
