@amzuel420 you are very naive. arming civilian ships to fight the pirates is a really bad idea because: 1. then pirates will just arm themselves more. 2. it adds extra cost to shipping companies. 3. it's stupid to ask civilian crews to risk their lives to save the ransom payment (which the shipping companies generally have insurance for) by actually engaging the pirates with weapons when pirates generally do not harm the crews in hijacking. 4 possibility of firearm accidents onboard.
