Wouldn't you rather have people argue in the comments than not? Best case, thought provoking ideas are shared; worst case, you can just ignore that comment. Comments don't need to be an empty shells that revolve around you and your beliefs solely. You can ignore this completely, for example.
I love jonsi and alex, theirs is the only music I can listen to whilst writing my horrendous art theory essays, it's so relaxing it acts as a kind of hypnotism to let me believe for a moment that what I'm reading and writing isn't total bullshit, which is necessary so I don't go ape shit and tear my hair out. Thanks guys, now when my art happily accidentally looks a little like the riceboy sleeps book and my lecturers call me an 'illusionist' I don't feel so bad
@Spirituse I love it for working too - nothing just sort of respects the deep quiet of late night or early morning the way 'Riceboy Sleeps' does. I hope Jonsi + Alex make another album like it. I just wonder how high up it is on Jonsi's to-do list; it seems kind of experimental. Alex's 'Parachutes' band approaches it enough to be reminiscent, in some songs. Well at least we got this eh?
The memory of being at the sea, like seen through a time telescope, distance of lifetime, the warmth of it flows through you. Waves like sighing, open ceiling of the land meets washing water, the familiar heat sweeps over you. That time at the beach…
I'm so glad I found riceboysleeps through sigur ros. I feel like Jonsi and I both make art for the patient of mind. He does it a lot better than me of course. And it does take patience or some things but he never disappoints.
I figure a child playing by de sea, in a deep light blue and bright day. The sea, which is enormus and can be stormy and wild, appears quiet and gentle in the presence of the innocent and curious child, and this music is the song the sea sings for him.
I picture myself swimming in water at night and I don't need air. I can swim forever without needing air for as long as I want. It makes me sad that not a lot of people know about this music, but in a way im glad that only a few people do so I can call this music all to my own. Every moment makes me cry.
I picture myself walking on a beach at night time and the snow is falling gently. Then I go into the water and start swimming among the seaweed, I swim forever without needing air and nothing in the world can hurt me...
When we were children I think we were so pretty. But when we turned adult we are so... i dunno how it to say. Want to say it`s beautiful what playing is. And who is more adult it`s better to stay child in your heart, head and soul than to be really adult. Because when you`re adult really adult like stereotip you`re so ugly and stupid. I prefer this music, not stuid TV or modern readio shit. Native Musicians are children I think and that`s right and great. Don`t lose your child in yourself.
This is really soothing and beautiful. It's the kind of music I search for to listen to while I write my stories, but I can't seem to find much of it.
Can anyone recommend other groups or songs that are similar? (I'm new to this whole "ambient" thing). Thanks!

I love this video and music, but I have to say I got really creeped out at 3:34 when the other face appears! I also found myself getting quite teary eyed. I feel like I am watching old old movies of people who have died. And with the heavenly music I guess I am mourning their loss. I don't know if this is old footage or new footage made to look old, but the whole experience is nothing short of religious.
