Superb stuff. I was chasing Edmar Castaneda clips when I stumbled across this. I didn't realise there was such talent behind the jazz harp here in Australia. Great little duo!
I am unable to understand which harp. I thought he is playing both the "harps" right- notes become higher from left towards right- as in any instrument.
What are you talking about? The harp is spun around so that the column is facing him. When you play the harp, the soundboard rests on your right shoulder, facing you. You are clearly not a harpist!
Of course I'm not a harpist. In this image flickr.(com)/photos/krakow81/411948763/, I find the smaller part is towards us. The person in this video did just the right thing by placing the harp such that he can play the notes from left to right as bass to treble. This way he gets an advantage of the common configuration on all instruments, and thus is able to play it rather smoothly. If it were backwards then it'd've been very difficult for him...
...I once used to play the 'harp' (the harmonica; sic!) backwards. It took some time to correct this, after this observation happened. Of course I play THAT 'harp', that's how I stumbled upon this video. (rated 5*!)
